I have recently started to play the banjo after a break of 20 plus years

I have had to learn the basics again

I now realise as I have gained maturity it's like making love to a beautiful lady

the way you hold her between your legs

gentley caressing the neck as your fingers dance

holding the pick as you strum

and jeep the rhythm

many a good tune played on an old banjo

serious question for fellow banjo plays

I seem to drag the strings as I play

how do I keep it gentle and smooth to keep the lady purring ??

there seem to be many ways of right hand picking

its advice on the right hand

do I make a fist to pick the strings

do I strum lightly or firmly

ive seen some hold the pick like they are wanking a cock

Is it hard to learn? Have never played any musical instrument, but have always wanted to try the banjo

I self taught myself 20 years ago

I also played tin whistle as a kid so I knew tunes

its like starting over again

its difficult enough tho
