There are plenty of trans people in Ireland. It's just an unfortunate fact that the Irish healthcare system is completely failing our community with waiting list of 10+ years and very few can afford to get treatment abroad.

The "process" as you called it is also something very personal to us and not exactly something most of us would want to discuss with random strangers over the internet.

To add to that, my personal opinion is that visibility is the way forward for our community. Hiding in the shadows has done us no good and led right to the fucked up situation that we find ourselves in.

I'm happy to talk about my journey but just understand that we're not some mythical creatures, someones dirty secret or fetish.

We are just part of the broad spectrum that is humankind.
