Don’t make the same mistake as I did and end up looking like a right gobshite.

My playmate and I usually meet up once a week for a hotel stay, and we take turns paying. A while back, though, we managed to get two nights away. She paid for the hotel and even treated us to a sea bath, so when we went out for dinner I insisted on paying.

Then I overheard the waiter telling another table that the card reader was broken and directing them to a nearby cash machine. My heart sank. I had no cash. No card. Nothing.

Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to cover it. I had to explain to her that the place was cash only and I had none on me or card to get some. Thankfully, she saw the funny side of it,even if I didn’t at the time.

Dont carry cash at all

Use my phone to pay for everything

Was in a restaurant recently for dinner with Toxic ....card machine not working

Neither of us had cash on us

I paid a waiter into his revolut account and they sorted it internally

If the card machine isnt working its more their issue but u always got to carry the physical card. Phones and watches are grand but always have the card.
