Is it just me or is there an abundance of fake profiles lately?

I feel like there should be a mandatory photo verification needed to join the site, would atleast reduce the amount of fakes

Admin don’t seem to be able to spot AI pics and you think they’ll recognise AI photo verification?

Photo verification while not compulsory is clearly visible or not on any profile. Also a box that can be ticked in profile searches and message filters. Surely that's enough ?

Very true actually, won't be long be long before every profile has to pay to register

Wonder if there would be any other ways to reduce it...

If that’s some sort of jab at my profile pic I’ll have to know it’s not AI, it’s stupidity generated, or SG for short.

This is the only way to reduce fakes, dreamers and cheaters.

Paying is the one thing AI can't do for us unfortunately

Just block or report any profile you think is fake. Pic verifications need to be taken with a pinch of salt I find especially nowadays.

And what is fake anyhow. Someone who won't chat, someone who blocks others, or using photoshop AI or even other people's pics as their own. The latter is what I consider fake.

If I think someone is not who they claim to be I just ignore rather than engage with them.

I agree 100% and I do ignore, its more so the real people on here who be caught by the fake profiles and end up with awful experiences and no shows when they are on the site for genuine reasons and end up leaving or fear of actually engaging with people because of the fakes

Few rules we imploy

- real life verifications 10+

- recent verification within last 4 months

- attends socials

- we have met them face to face before.

We just ignore all the rest.

The only time we use AI for the background of pics. As for the fake profiles yup it's annoying especially the active one that's been on the forums lately. The fact they don't realise Google image is a thing is quite funny

I think anyone who is atleast semi serious won't mind paying. There will always be a loss, but if 30£ is too much, surely a hotel room / tests / condoms / fuel would definitely be too expensive

What i was getting at was that if they implemented it, for new joiners on the fence, the price could turn them away unknowing how the site is

Exactly, £€30 is not remotely expensive if you're interested in the scene. If that is too expensive for you, then the other expenses will be prohibitive! If you're buying things like coffees, pints, or takeaways, then you can afford this!

Non-memwbers should have little to no access to view other accounts, comment on forums or post pictures. Might sound harsh, but the place needs a serious clean up.

To be honest, that excuse is always rolled out. It's just doesn't cut it anymore.

Plenty of information online, and some very, very basic access should be enough.

After that, $hit or get of the pot!

Unfortunately some profiles never plan to get that far and just want to act the bollox by pretending to set up coffee meets or hotel meets especially for single men

Def a increase in fake accounts. I dont get it to be honest its sad. Maybe just make it a pay only site. As for the AI...its embarrasing it cant be spotted. Some are basicly cartoons.

Time and time again we come across these confounded threads of people lamenting about fake profiles.

I'm sure there are dubious characters on here but in all my 4½ years I've never personally encountered a fake profile. I don't understand how these so called fake profiles can affect or impede anyone's experience on here. Thank goodness for due diligence.

It's not just the fakes I have an issue with as much as the blank single and couples profiles and the ones messaging with a shite profile, either blank or one very bad or old picture:

"I'm staying in a hotel in Galway tonight,"

Subscription needed to root a load them out, too!

By merley saying theres a lot of fake accounts doesnt mean they have impinged on a persons experience on fab. Its just a statement of fact. Nobody ia say thet 26 fake accounts contact them ever day. They are just highlighting that there is a steady increase in fake accounts. So if in 4½ years you have never observed a fake account while flicking through fab fair play to your observation skills

You can filter out any non PV profiles from contacting you from this link, then the site will work for you how you want it to.

https://www.fabswingers.com/my/filters

I am not sure what your definition for fakes is OP but if you report the profile Admin will take a look and deal with if the report is verified

PS if someone doesn't reply to you, it doesn't mean they are fake. You don't need to report people for not replying to you.

The same with if they have just joined and have no public pics, give people time to start up their profile.
