You will hear all about him tomorrow. He’s an Irish guy who plays American football. Scored the winning field goal for the New Orlean Saints tonight. He only started playing AFL two years ago, it’s a fantastic story!

Westmeath The West.

Mad to think, if he keeps it up and gets to fulfill the rest of his 3yr contract, he'll be a millionaire this time next year!

I honestly am delighted for him but at the same time I'm gutted for the talent within the gaa that don't get the respect they deserve from the GAA. Pay the county players and so many young men will stay within the sport.

You only have to look at lads like Coby McDonald heading off to Australia and Charlie Smyth pursuing opportunities elsewhere, that talent should still be at home, playing and being valued.

Money in Australia isn't significant if you're not careful.

It's nearly impossible for any sport to compete with the sort of money available in US professional sport.

Many would go anyway, for the experience and opportunuty of more money

True, Australia’s great, but the scale of US sport money is a different world. I can see why people chase both the experience and the upside.

Charlie has started well against the Jets this evening too!

No, god no. Don't make GAA professional.

The level of training and professionalism filtering down to the club level is too much as it is already.

If it became a profession rather than a passion, we would lose the game we love.

Its worth losing the very small number of players to maintain this

Nah....us Irish tend to celebrate and talk about r*pists getting married in Rome. I've 3 Sunday newspapers here today and hadn't a clue who he was.

Fair play to him, hope he is celebrated, like he should be 👏👏👏

The way he’s playing shows how well Irish kickers can translate to the NFL. I’d be surprised if scouts aren’t paying a lot more attention now.
