Leinster Hiking Group – Anyone Interested?

Hi everyone!

I’m wondering if there might be interest in starting a casual hiking group for people in the Leinster region. It’d be a great way to meet new faces from the community, get some fresh air, and enjoy good company while exploring local trails.

No pressure, no expectations—just a relaxed way to connect and see where things go. All experience levels welcome!

If this sounds like something you’d join, drop a comment or send a message. If enough people are up for it, we can create a group message and pick a few beginner-friendly routes and organise a first outing.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Groups based in south Leinster, Munster and Galway already exist and have been very well supported. I am sure a group set up for Dublin and the surrounding counties would be equally successful.

Its a fantastic way to meet like-minded people in a safe, relaxed and discreet environment. If connections are made people can arrange to meet separately in the future.

Strict vetting of members and some basic rules such as not revealing the location of meets are important to ensure the safety, privacy and enjoyment of group members.

"Some walking, lots of talking and coffee and cake as a bonus".

"Organise it and they will come".

Best of luck.

......

Hi Kara,

Couldn't pm due to filters.

Was on a hiking trip in Portugal and haven't been on here, so sorry for delay in replying.

As posted above There is a "Leinster" group run by Jcand Lulu.

I am always amazed that there isn't a Dublin based group.

Walking/hiking is a great way to meet and chat with like-minded people.

Best of luck with your walking/hiking activities. 👨‍🦯🚶🚶🏽‍♀️👨‍🦯👩‍🦯🚶👨‍🦯☕️🍰🤝

Use verifications to check who you would like to spend time walking, chatting and drinking coffee with.......that way you will eliminate the "I luv fu*king in the forest" brigade.

I'm in the east Midlands walking group. Around carlow normally. It is a great way to get out and meet people. Would be interested in seeing what's happening around kildare too. Easy way to get to know people
