Orally speaking.. how often do you go?

Does a good set of gnashers appeal or repel?

Would bad teeth or bad breath be worse?

Ever lost a tooth? That you never found?

Twice a year to hygienist and once a year to dentist for check up. Vital part of health care as lack of good oral care can lead to other issues like heart disease cancers, etc

I second this....every 6 months to keep on top of things

Personally think bad breath is worse as bad teeth can be fixed with orthodontics etc

Same as above, couple of visits a year to the dentist/hygienist.

I neglected going for years - mainly from fear after some bad experiences - but then had to get a lot of work done at a decent cost as a result about 4/5 years ago and have just kept on top of things since. My teeth are in good nick now thankfully 😬 👈 (that's me showing off my gnashers)

Bad breath / teeth would definitely be a turn off. Other than that, I don't really care, as long as they don't "scrape" 😂

I had a lot of work done on my teeth some years ago. Have always been a regular dentist goer over the years. It’s expensive but worth it. I have a great smile now as a result. We are going to live a lot longer so you’ll need to be able to chew and bite for many years to come.

Was going to add suck but you don’t need teeth for that! 😂

I always try to have someone join me while brushing my teeth because 9 out of 10 dentist says brushing teeth alone is not good enough.

The occasional graze can heighten sensation though

I started going every 6 months a couple of years ago.

Had a few bad experiences and didn't go for years.

My previous dentist gave me a list of all the work I needed done and it came to about €1500.

I kept putting it off and after being refused an appointment when I had a toothache, I went with a new dentist who told me that my teeth were actually fine, bar needing one filling.

Apart from brushing at least once a day, use the little brushes on the red or yellow plastic handle to clean between your teeth every few days, as the big toothbrush can't get between your teeth. Don't use mouthwash every day, as it kills the good bacteria in your mouth, as well as the bad. I use Kin once a fortnight.

Regular checkup with local dentist.

Got two crowns expensive but worth it in the long run.

I use a toothpaste Paradontax recommended by a hygienist years ago and I fine it works for me anyway.

Thanks for the posts. Glad to hear all those who keep up with the oral hygiene.. dentists bills are very expensive though. It's a shame that the market isn't more competitive. I've considered flying to Budapest to have 2 crowns fitted.. thank you popcorn...

I've read great things about a dentist in Tralee including price.

I'll have to look it up.

Just out from the annual trip to the dentist 😬..

The stress of it I'm so glad when its over and all and the pearl whites are polished again..

And yes teeth are definitely one of the things that can determine if I'm interested in someone or not.

A nice smile can brighten almost ever room 😁

Sitting in the dentist waiting room right now

I actually don't mind it one bit - would rather go to the dentist than get my hair cut....at least I don't have to talk to them 😆

I'd rather have my head shaved than sit in the dentist chair.

Even the numbing to have my teeth cleaned is enough to bring me out in a cold sweat....😰😰

I won't even get that for a filling - it wasn't an option when I got my first ones done

Because of rush hour traffic in the area my dentist opens at 7.00am and finishes early

I've fallen asleep in the chair waiting on the numbing injection to work

The chairs are actually very comfortable

Absolutely terrified of dentists, goes back to my childhood.Back then they were rough as a badgers arse. Now I can't get a dentist to take on any closer than 30 miles away.

I usually just go when im called to go. That is normally 2 or 3 times a year. I've got good teeth and they're kinda handy for eating and stuff so best try to keep them in tip top shape. Bad teeth??? Yeah that would be a bit of a repellent to be honest. It's just one of those things that I can't unsee. Id be looking at them . Hygiene is important too obviously.

Never lost a full one, but you gotta be careful with nuts and seeds

Valley of Squinting Windows

Dentist or hygienist alternately at 6 month intervals.

I don't tend to notice teeth much unless they are really badly cared for or over whitened, which looks very off-kilter in an otherwise "lived-in" face IMO

Bad breath is really offputting but not always down to poor oral hygiene

Lost a tooth? As in dropped one in the street?

A smile is one of the first things I notice. Perfect teeth aren't important to me, but good hygiene definitely is. A smile is like a person's calling card and says a lot about them.

On the other spectrum.. Turkey teeth.. has anyone gone the full op.

Just watching love island and those teeth could be seen from space.

Has anyone taken the plunge? I understand the rationale behind it.

I came across a Fab profile yesterday from a woman who listed Turkey teeth as one of her attractions. Each to their own 🙂🦷
