C'mon ladies or indeed any fabbers raise your age limit by a year or two. Give us older fabbers a sporting chance to make a good impression. Lots of lovely profiles I can't message as I'm a year past the cut off. Broader nets catch more fish.

No 🤷🏻‍♀️

Boundaries are boundaries. You might not like them but that’s a you problem, not a me problem.

Are you suggesting trawling???

Habitat Destruction: The net acts like a bulldozer, damaging or destroying marine habitats and seafloor structures like coral reefs.

Bycatch: It catches non-target species, including turtles and other invertebrates, as well as juvenile fish, which are known as bycatch.

Carbon Emissions: Dragging the net can disturb and release carbon stored in ocean sediments, potentially contributing to climate change.

Note the catching of non target species

Some people prefer smaller nets and less fish.

You might think it's a load of pollocks but you're codding yourself if you think they should widen it.

Sorry now but salmon had to say it because I'm sick of herring about people's preferences not being acceptable.

....and other such fish puns. I'll get my coat 🧥

You list 39 to 64 as the age of women you'd like to meet

Why not a 38 or a 65 year old

It sucks when I see profiles with an age limit that I exceed but that’s life.

Do you really want to meet someone who doesn't consider you likely to be of interest to them?

Seems like you would either be wasting your time or that you think that you're special enough to convince them they are wrong. Hey maybe you are 🤔 anyway best of luck. Us oldies are fishing in a shallow pool and that's just life.

Sure you can adjust the age settings you want to see in the advance settings there are plenty of profiles that may be better suited to you and you can message

There's a lot of ways to skin the fab cat and messaging is only one of them.

OP you have been here eleven months so maybe it's time to try another tack?

There's no age filters at events.

Eel be regretting that decision.

Don't get me wrong, I can empathize with the OP but if he could mackerelatively alluring profile, women oh here might notice and drop him a line.

But who am I trying to cod. He's in the same boat as the rest of us.

I don't imagine for a moment that I'm special enough. Just expressing a bit of an issue, as I am sure it's the same for a lot of older members, that after a certain age, you get written off. This is for both men and women.

Op perhaps the best advice anyone can give you is to improve your chances with those who are looking for someone your age would be to have a proper avatar and work on the content of your bio and as for the age thing you can't change someone's mind if they don't want something so best to make self improvement and try something different with the available pool at your able to message good luck

"No 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's not about not liking them-it was simply expressing in a light-hearted manner that age limits also limit opportunities for all parties. Given how many complaints there are on there about aggression from a lot of guys, older men are more mature emotionally for a start and typically have more life experience on so many levels.

I wouldn't go confusing age and maturity

It wouldn't be a stretch, for example, to say that a fair proportion of the posts whining about the lack of meets are from so called 'mature men'.

The mature thing to do, in my opinion, would be to leverage all the opportunities and tools fab offers everyone to make connections and spend a little less time blaming a lack of success on a simple age filter.

It doesn't limit anything though. It is people's preferences. They don't want to meet anyone over a certain age.

I have mine set to 55 because I found a lot of men over that age (and a few younger) were taking years off their age anyhow and pretending to be younger than they were. I wouldn't consider someone doing that mature at all.And some of the messages I've gotten off older men on here are on the same level of maturity of men a lot younger that I have gotten in the past.

If people have preferences set then just respect that rather than try and get to change it. If your profile appeals to some outside that range then they can message you anyhow if they want, unless they are outside your age ranges that is .

It really depends on whether you view the age range stated on profiles as a preference or a boundary?

In personal interactions a "preference" is a wish that isn't essential and can be disregarded by the person expressing that preference if they so desire in any particular situation.

A "boundary", is a firm rule that one sets, to protect one's well-being and cannot be broken in any circumstances.

Age range for some on Fab may be simply a preference but for others it is an absolute boundary, which is their prerogative, and has to be respected.

The OP's polite, and as he described it "light hearted", request may actually strike a sympathetic chord with some of those expressing a preference on age range but will obviously be looked on negatively by those with more ridged rules around who they want to meet.

Exclusion on the basis of age, relationship status, geographical location, gender, sexual orientation, difference of opinion or simply because someone takes takes unintended offence to a message or forum post is all part of the overall Fab experience. It should never be allowed to interfere with your enjoyment of positive interactions with like-minded fabbers while leaving others to remain protected behind their impenetrable boundaries.

The pun posts almost had me hooked but I didn't take the bait and fall into the fish trap but tried to keep a tight line on the subject matter of the thread.
