I am genuinely wondering, ladies of Fab..... What do you want in an opening message??? I myself keep it casual, don't attach an unwanted dick pic, don't go straight to "wanna fuck" or "car meet" etc.....my first time DM is just a conversation starter, or something relevant to what you have put in your bio. But 9 times out of 10 no response....so I'm here on forums asking.....What do ye want in an opening message!!!

I'll take a stab at this. They all want something different, because they're all unique people. And what kind of different depends wildly on their mood at any given moment.

And also they're often only on taking to people they already know so the extra messages are just noise and their Fab-dunbar's number is at capacity.

So you also need some dumb luck in your timing.

It's the similar approach I take with very little results I've even tried the Hi how are you approach I'm almost blocked by everyone within my county based on this alone so I'm intrigued to see the answers to this thread note pad and pen at the ready as we speak 😅😅

I firmly agree with you here brother! Massive amount is just luck! Don't get me wrong I don't hold it against anyone who doesn't respond cause I see the status of some profiles inundated with messages, they can't get to them all...

Some guys copy/paste messages & send out en masse. This is as obvious as anything. And a big no no.

Only message ladies you are genuinely interested in. Personalise your 1st message which shows you have actually taken the time to read their profile. This makes a huge difference.

Just be yourself. Try to avoid the words: (in 1st msg anyway!)

I will generally ask if a guy wants to chat more with me if he is attached. He could lie of course but I prefer to be given the choice for myself. It doesnt bothet some women on here if you are, it bothers me.

And I honestly prefer a man being honest with me. I do not appreciate spending sometimes weeks chatting with someone, I forgot to ask & then it dawns on me to ask...its in my bio that I dont want attached men reaching out go me.

Most people won’t chat with unverified profiles!! Get yourself verified and out there in the scene

I actually don't mind a hi how are you type message. I've written first messages to people on here and I know they aren't the easiest thing to write to someone who you may only have a brief bio to go on.

Don't go in all blowing smoke up someone's ass either that is just false flattery 99 per cent of the time.

At present I rarely answer any messages as I am not meeting anyone new and unfortunately I have found over the years answering messages just leads ro expectations of a meet even when I've been clear from the start that I am too busy to be meeting anyone new, but when I was it was the profile of the person would have to appeal to me before I would answer a message . And that does not mean the person had to have a 6 pack etc like people claim just a good decent bio and some pics. Not all of their dick. And not an AI written profile either.

I'll mostly only send an opening message if I'm having a bit of craic with someone on a forum thread. I usually get a reply.

On some occasions, it's someone I had been chatting to before that had left Fab but came back. Again, I usually get a reply.

Or the rare times where a profile looks like we could be compatible. I very seldom get a reply.

In 9 years on Fab I've probably sent less than 30 opening messages.

I've ignored more opening messages sent to me than the amount of opening messages I've sent to others.

There was a movie titled "What women want" not sure it'll help you here but there are varying degrees to this answer, we have long and short term, I think the short term ones apply to you unless your after a relationship.

I think the answer is very simple, treat this place as an online niteclub, you wouldn't walk up to a woman in coppers and take out your mickey or tell her you've a car outside if she wants to climb in the back with you. Actually coppers might be a bad choice here so no mickey pics or wanna fuck one liners

Be a functioning adult, someone who acts like he was raised by humans and not wolves. It shocking that this has to be said but some who doesn't see showering as optional and that Lynx Africa cans are for deodorant and not mickey pics. Clean fingernails too. Basic hygiene.

A sense of humour, ability to listen and read, a personality, a little respect and be able to hold a conversation and string a few lines of a message together.

And I think be positive, women dont want to be your mammy looking after you or giving you advice on here, there is a lot to be learned by sitting back and reading comments in forum, call it research and development, it'll take a little time but too many lads here seem to be in a rush, it's not tinder.

I say, seduce the mind, the body will follow.

It’s not a one answer fits all question .

I think lots of women don’t even read messages anymore because it’s the same shite and the more it goes on the less we can tolerate it .

I’ve seen it women with hundreds of unread messages , so realistically there’s a strong chance you will get lost in the volume regardless of whatever you write .

I think men should worry less about what us ladies want and concentrate on putting the most fabulous version of yourself across on here as u can .

The ladies will find u if you stand out from the crowd .

Just be yourself and anybody that don’t like you that’s their loss .

Staying true to yourself is the hardest thing to do on here when u constantly trying to fit in !!!

Maybe some women get that many. I definitely don't. It's a few a day and ive no filters set so its not that. If you let them build up and don't delete them then yeah maybe I can say I've 100 but it's not a status symbol for me and says more about the ratio here than anything else.

When I first opened my account I had 600 in the first few days and it makes me wonder why there is this pouncing on fresh meat scenario?

And 90% can be deleted without opening because they have not read the profile, or just sent a Hey.

I only open a message if I like the profile pic and I'll check the profile first to see if its someone who I might be compatible with.
