Hi guys,

I’ve been living in Ireland for a while now as I’m studying here. I’m always looking for new opportunities and trying to understand this beautiful country better.

I know Irish people are very proud of their culture, language, etc. But how open are they to learning new languages? Is studying Spanish common here?

I’m a translator and would love to teach group classes, but even though I have plenty of experience, I’m not really sure how common it is to study a foreign language here.

Thanks!

Learning foreign languages in Ireland is as common as in other countries. Tons of places/people teaching Spanish to be honest. Loads of universities offer higher language degrees as well.

Not sure if it’s done much theses days but you could put an ad up in your local library and see if it gets any attention. I am currently on a 155 streak for Spanish on Duo Lingo… c'est la vi 🇧🇷
