They might try to justify it to themselves by convincing themselves they don't like it. There used to be (and maybe still is) a stigma attached to it, that it was seen as weak but it can actually a very dominant act. | |||

But rather than go through a series of fact-finding questions to understand that dynamic, I'll just speak more generally about potential ways to approach it. Also, without a more in-depth, fact-finding discussion I have to make a number of assumptions, such as assuming you know precisely how you like it done and are able to communicate that. If it's an ongoing thing, then there's room for exploration and trial and error, so it doesn't have to be achieved in one go. If ye've got an open dynamic where ye already talk about this stuff, start by saying what he does that you like and say that you heard* (from girlfriend or something) about something you want to try. *If you're worried about hurting his feelings, don't say it was a previous partner who did it well. If he's mature enough, by all means say it was a previous partner. Other ways to approach it: 1) Make it part of talking dirty. Say, "I want you to...." and describe how you like it done. 2) Give on going verbal feedback as he's doing it. If he's doing something you like, say* things like: "that's so good" "keep doing that" *make it sound sexy to keep the mood. If you are liking it, it will sound sexy anyway. If you want him to do something different, try framing it in terms of your present feeling, as opposed to his technique: "I'm feeling sensitive today, could you do it this way..." "I'm not feeling very sensitive today, could you do it that way...." You can also frame it in such a way that you don't already know how you like it done and want to spend time with him exploring it. Get him to try out different approaches and then talk about it after. | |||
