Not a Liverpool fan but still thought he was one if the best forwards around. Just a natural talent. And even when he wasn't starting you knew when he came on he always played like he had a point to prove. A 💯 team player.

RIP..

Not being insensitive because I didn't know the guy and obviously terrible for any family to lose people unexpectedly. I have a question, not a Liverpool fan in case I'm accused of being something I'm not , as regularly happens on here. Do the club have insurance to the value of the player? Like he was worth €50/60 million, no ? Do they get that fee from their insurance company? I remember something happened a few years ago with a plane crash and I think a Cardiff player they have just bought but not insured,it's not emotional but in the running of a business I imagine the players are assets.

So devastating being a Liverpool fan but as a footballing community as a whole shocking news and prayers and condolences to his family and fellow team mates past and present at their moment of sadness. And to that person above talking about sadder than Gaza no it may not be in your eyes but no death is sadder than the next but this post by the op was talking about diago jota20 so he will never walk alone and a player widely loved and cherished by us devastated Liverpool and the Portugal supporters.

Thought of the same thing earlier and I do support Liverpool

Id imagine every player and essential staff are insured and as far as I know the price is written down every year till the end of their contract

A deprecating asset on the books

Very sad day for his family and friends

Yes, exactly that. I remember watching a video of Ben Foster talking about how expensive it is for a footballer to get car insurance because of this.

Based in Kerry, work in Cork.

It's a reminder how much we can take life for granted.

The Cardiff one was different? The player died on the way after the contracts were signed he never actually got to play but that was the dispute

If there’s insurance who knows but they have to replace him now! Hes a huge loss to the club

Still can’t get over it! As a United fan I remember when they got him and it was a sublime business!
