"On Father's Day, just wanted to acknowledge all those dads on here. The important role you play. I'm lucky to have an incredible father, dependable, kind, funny, intelligent, and proud to call him my dad. " Nice words ![]()

"Not everyone has a great father. Which is a shame. My father has always told me that I am one of the many "third parties" who has come between him and my mother. Everything was hunky dory when it was just Dad n Mum. But then I came along and I quickly became another of those fiddle faddling, messing, third parties who got over involved in my fathers relationship. He refuses to discuss further and simply tells me that I should do what is expected of me. When questioned, he says I should KNOW what is expected of me. Whenever I have no friends, I don't go out, I don't have holidays, I stay at home and I jump when he needs something, then everything is okay. " Sounds like a complex, domineering relationship. Can you get professional advice about how to handle it? It might be well worth the money.
