So as the title says, is anyone still single here? How many of you thought that you would be still single at this stage of your life? I’m single myself and if you had asked me 10 years ago would I be single at this stage of my life I would have said definitely not! But unfortunately it’s so difficult to meet new people these days

I'm just not wired for relationships.

When in them, I show respect and do all that needs to be done.

But really, I'm just going through the motions.

I tried again a few years back and it lasted four years. The longest I had ever been in a relationship.

But I was living a lie. A life that just wasn't aligned with my true self and I had to be honest with her.

She was disappointed, and felt like I wasted her time. But she respects how I feel and that I was honest with her.

We're good friends now and get on far better without the pressure of being in a relationship.

I kinda went off road there.

So to answer your question, I've always expected to be single at this stage in my life and have absolutely no problem with it.

Though the funny thing is I spent most of my 30s worrying about it not happening and maybe "settling" in relationships that were not gonna work, that I truly wasn't enjoying life. Now I'm single and happier than I've ever been.

I was in a relationship for 27 years, when I didn't think I could be with the same person for more than two or three years.

Now I'm single at 50 which I never imagined I would be.

Is there any particular reason do you think why people don’t want to be in relationships anymore? Look I enjoy the single life as much as anyone but it’s still nice to have someone to go places with and do things

I'm single and perfectly content, but ultimately, a LTR committed relationship would be nice. Had a few bad choices with some of the females I had relationships with, unpleasant endings or events in all cases for me, but I'm better off now. I have met three women in the last 10 years I would have liked to get more involved with, but they were not available for dating. The idea that you can't be happy as a singleton or that there is something odd if you are single is nonsensical. So many folks cannot be on their own, so they are in relationships for the sake of it rather than the want of it or stay out of a need rather than a want. Most of my friends and two siblings are divorced. I never married. As a younger man, I didn't want to and didn't want the responsibility of children, but

In a strange turn of events I actually met someone recently and we've been 'dating', which is really nice. Totally didn't expect that to happen!

Single here at the age of 48. Was married, well so far on paper I’m still married but living alone. 10 years ago never did I think I’d be single again. But here I am. No plans on getting into a full relationship for 2025. 2025 is my fuck it year. And I don’t mean I’d fuck everyone I meet. More fuck it as in fuck it I don’t care who’s talking about me. I would maybe like to try a relationship again but in my opinion I’d never been enough for someone. So fuck it lol.

Met someone unreal at 40. Things were so good I thought we'd be married two years now. Tried again a few times after we split. Never worked. Had a bereavement on top of it all.

She passed last year and now I'm pretty secure in the fact that I'll not actively date again.

I would happily jump into another relationship right now but what I seemed to have found out is that I couldn't get a second look from a woman if I was the last man on earth and every woman was straight.

When I was younger I always thought I would get married and have kids. Neither happened. And to be honest I'm happy the way it turned out. I've seen so many people being miserable in marriages and I know in a long term relationship I had,I was more lonely than I've ever been while being single.

Now I wouldn't want to live with anyone ever again. In fact I think I would hate to have someone around all the time. I'm quite introverted so like my alone time. As well as having a king size bed to myself most of the time.

I could have written that myself, I feel exactly the same. I assumed I would meet and marry and have kids, it never happened and actually I’m fine with it. I love my life, I have no want or need to live with anybody and ideally I would love to find someone to date and go on holidays with for the rest of my life ☺️

I've been in two 10 years relationships the latter i thought was for life, but it just wasn't meant to be. We're still good friends and co parent well, which im delighted about. Did I think I would be a single mam at my age?? No, but then again, I never really had an idea of what my life would be like either when I was younger. I have a great family and friends around me so I'm blessed in that aspect.

There are times when I wish I had a partner but mainly down to the stresses of life and for someone to carry the baton for a bit. I've never felt so alive sexually before and it is amazing and I don't see how a partner would fit into that right now or ever. FWBs is all I want for the time being

I will say from experience of some past relationships that you can feel more alone in a relationship than when you are single.

In my case, I met all the good one's early on

around the time I wanted to head out with my mates and let off some steam...
