It's the moderators who delete threads not the person who started the thread so bowing to pressure from anyone is not correct

I think threads are deleted when they get too personal or when rules are broken. What people need to realise is threads are not a place for rational debate (for the most part) unfortunately.

Someone got cranky and threw their toys out of the pram and they were reported.

That drew attention to a thread about telegram, which are not allowed, and it was nuked from orbit by a mod.
