My fitness has dropped over the past few months due to a few changes in circumstances.Would anybody be interested in a telegram group from beginners to advanced levels of fitness to keep motivation going, who knows, maybe evolving into meets, socials to keep the pace going.

Getting more exercise is probably the best way to improve fitness.....

I have found spending time on chat groups to be counter productive, fitness wise.....

🚶‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏋️‍♂️🏊‍♂️

I'd love to see a group like up and running and successful

Having accountability buddies or just people to chat to that are in the same boat can make a huge difference for a lot of people.

It's a great way to arrange to meet up for exercise too.

The idea is to do your own exercises and check in daily, weekly or whatever suits yourself, and if you have an off day or need advice on something you can ask in the group, and also a bit of banter

Doesn't your walking group center around a chat group?

.....

It is nice to see that people take note of my activities on Fab even though they may be somewhat behind the times in their observations as that walking group no longer exists.

But I still believe getting out and being active is more conducive to maintaining fitness than spending time on a chat group.....unless ones aim is the finger fitness of the keyboard warrior.

No.....I'm not sure how much clearer I can be that it's a definate no.

The walking group was originally organised through dm's on fab before the chat group was ever set up.

It was centred around getting out and actually walking and the chat group was a secondary spin off from the main purpose of the walking group.

It's not a bad idea in fairness Op. I'm sure with some thought you'd get ppl to engage. I often though it would be nice to meet ppl who are into the same sporting activities. Like the walking groups but just different.

Go for it, you might be pleasantly surprised or horrifically disappointed but at least you tried eh.

I do find group chats to be a bit distracting but I get distracted by anything. I like the idea but if it's gym related, they can get pretty heated about form, fitness and apparel.

Ah no no I'm more outdoorsy I can't do gyms I'd die of boredom. Each to their own of course.

Same I like swimming outdoors and cycling.

I do really like when I have someone to share my progress with though.

A group of us had a good one going during Covid for about 6 months. We had little challenges, competitions, craic and got on really well. People posted about their progress and we had a good mix of fitness, health and sexiness.

Then a woman joined who dominated the group, changing the subject in the middle of good chats, on a completely different wavelength to the rest of us. People eventually got bored and drifted away. I left myself after a while.

Anyway, I'd advise choosing your members carefully and not letting it get too big (20 max) which will allow rapport to build naturally.

Oh and don't use it to get meets.

Best of luck with it. Mrs
