Genuine question to straight lads.... How do you feel about taking a compliment or wink etc from another dude?

I wouldn't normally but passed this absolute 10/10 gorgeous lad running this evening and slowed down to have a look and gave him a wink (something I'm not in the habit off but was mega horny today) and when I looked in the rear view mirror he was having a fit swinging his arms about in disgust 🙄

Surely he could have just taken the compliment without all the macho bullsh*t??

It is a compliment in my book

Where was the compliment?

All he saw was a complete stranger in a car, kerb crawling and winking at him.

It wouldn't bother me if another man spoke to me in a social situation and complimented me but the scenario you are describing isn't complimentary.

How do you know he was straight?

Would a bi or gay man have reacted differently if a horny man in a passing car slowed and winked?

A stranger in a car I would think weird but I wouldn’t be insulted. In a social setting I’d just take it as away of a quick hello. In work if I’m standing talking to someone and one of the lads walk by I’d wink at him. Now I’m bringing to wonder does the everyday wink mean something else to the people around me

Maybe he thought slowing down a car to get someone's attention and wink at them was a bit weird/creepy

If a guy did that nowadays he would be reported to the police.

Yup it’s creepy, not a compliment.

Women hate it too.

Sounds like he was disgusted by your horny curb crawling, that's not macho bullshit, a woman would have the same reaction. It's creepy not complimentary

Sounds like you've lost perspective on how to behave appropriately with other people.

Bit creepy slowing down in the car tbf. If that happened to a girl, she'd probably call the guards

No problem taking a compliment from a dude but this just sounds creepy..honestly did you not think before you did it or posted this? If a straigh guy did this to a woman he would probably be reported to the guards.

I normally wouldn't be looking into cars unless of course there was a good looking woman driving or a passenger. Usually at traffic lights or M50 car parking in the mornings and evenings. Anyway more power to said hunk out jogging 🏃‍♂️. I'm sure he doesn't throw a tantrum when women wink in his direction

Apart from everything said above I'd like to know why you were winking a straight man?

Did you know he was straight when you decided to do this or did you decide he must have been straight because of his reaction?

Who said he threw a tantrum? Pretty normal reaction to the situation in my opinion.

He wasn't looking into cars either. The op pulled up alongside him so obviously he was going to look.

Do you know many kerbcrawling women who would do something like this?

Doesn’t matter the sex or sexuality, you slowed your vehicle down so you could perv on a dude out running and minding his own business. 100% creeper vibes going on dude. Wrong just wrong. Uninvited sexual attention is never ok

It is a bit creepy, I'm straight but I don't mind a compliment or a knowing glance from a man but slowing down in a car to do it it's not appropriate

I can recall one summer evening while I was cycling in the Dublin/wicklow hills and a car overtook me and a young woman bared her bum from the back passenger open window

I wouldn't take offense.

I'd be polite and state it's not for me. I'd probably say thank you and leave it at that.

Can't see why anyone would be offended...but I'm not that guy I suppose.
