How sure can you be that what people put in their profile is the truth, the whole truth and not a total Fabrication.

Does straight mean straight or "Fab straight".

Does single mean not in a non fab relationship or just "Fab single".

Does couple always mean in a comitted non fab relationship or just "Fab buddies" in order to get party invites or share the travel/hotel costs when attending socials.

Does age 20,30,40,50,60something mean exactly that or should 10/15 years be added (or subtracted in the case of younger Fibbers not wanting to fall into the dreaded "same age as my kids" bracket).

Does Athletic mean marathon fit or just bendy in bed.

Does stated location mean at least one county over.

Does multiple locations indicate powers of bi-location.

Does "can go on all night" mean just can't get the job finished in a reasonable time.

The list of little white lies goes on and on into Fabfinity.

Honesty may be the best policy, but will it get you a ride?

Have caught out many lying about their age. Rarely meet a guy that has his correct age up. One taking 9 years off and another adding them on 😱

I wouldn't take any notice of body shape as that isn't an issue..

I always assume that a couple profile are an actual couple rather than a fab couple...

Locations are nearly always incorrect to hide identities.

Tbf Fab is all lies, damn lies 🙄

I start with the basic assumption that there are no women on the Internet and work from there.

One of my fave FB's ever had a fake in person name, age and hometown when I met her and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference. I'm still not totally sure I know her real name 😂

All that matters is that the person I'm meeting is attractive to me and there's no way to know that until we meet no matter how many photos or details we share.

That might change over time as we get to know each other but initially I wouldn't expect anyone to feel obligated to post identifying information on a website full of pervs

Incidentally, all my information is true so I actually assumed most would be somewhat truthful. I understand the different location, but the rest I believe folks should really be truthful.

Too many men saying they’re older than they are. Or less fit than they claim to be. Or shorter than they are - I still think most think my height requirement is a personal taste rather than a must due to my height.

Such a waste of my time 😉 as when meeting for a social coffee these lies will become clearly untruths 😏

She starts on the basis that they're lying, I tend to take people at face value.

Either way, if it becomes obvious that we've been left on, unless it's about tiny innocuous things like an approximate location, it's a very quick and likely permanent turnoff. We accept who we are, flaws and all, and appreciate similarly minded people.

Most of the information about me is the truth apart from the fact I'm not a culchie

I think if I was to lie about something that's very obvious I'd get caught pretty easy as I go to a lot of socials

No harm in some white lies especially if you need to hide your location

I usually only look at photos on profiles and not read the bio so I'd be upset if Delectable is not an ice cream or Bo Peep has no sheep or if Mr Scientist is just as sexy as Mr's Sexy Scientist

I tend to take people's profiles at face value but have got caught out a couple of times. One guy had photo that was 9 years old and when I asked for a current one he disappeared. Another one said 60 I'd guess 75 when we met. I don't care about the age, it's the loss of trust.

Our profile is pretty truthful except our ages which are -1 year because of whatever pretend birthday dates we put in at the time of joining. Our actual birthdays have happened but Fab birthdays obviously haven't rolled round yet.

A lie which affects us is the not being married lie. We don't deal with married or attached. The amount of guys that are incapable of reading this on our profile is staggering, but sure no-one reads profiles anyway.

The other one is the amount straight men who suddenly aren't that straight in DM. If they can't be open about their bisexuality in their profile it's not a good start. It's like they are saying bisexuality is wrong or for being secretive and that's homophobic.

And while I appreciate married guys can't be open about bisexuality, married or attached is a hard limit for us anyway.

I just presume (rightly or wrongly) that the single men here who can’t accommodate are married. I’m sure y’all have your reasons (sharing, living at home, housemates, just don’t want a rando in your place etc) but I’ve met too many who use those lines and are actually married. Also, I know that a lot of men will say mass just for a fuck, so I take everything they say with a pinch of salt.

We've had to lump all the 'can't accommodate's into the same category because there's just to many to verify, vet and do an in person vibe check with. So we just rule them all out. It's not great for someone who is in house share etc but there has to be some line drawn.

I met a couple years ago that were at least 20 years older than their profile pics. Booked a hotel room and everything. Plus he absolutely did not want to be there.

Also on the swipey app I got chatting to a woman who insisted on a video call and she wasn't even the same person in her photos 🙄

Understand the need for privacy but if lie can raise red flags. Body and age not really a problem. But somethings are for my own safety like meeting in public. So if can't it either not who say they are or hiding something else.

Some would say that we project our own nature on to others and assume they would act the same, ie. Someone who finds it easy to cheat will more likely have trust issues with their partner.

So it would be plausible that people who would lie on their profile would assume that others will be telling a few fibs also.

Everything on my profile is all true. That's probably half my problem on here. I'm not interesting enough
