Chatting a person up in person. Actually goin out on a limb and relying on your ability to go solo and pull. That you have enough game to do well for yourself. Not hoping your verification get you a meet. Too many on fab think 100 verifications mean they are gorgeous. Bring it all down to old school and if you were in a pub before social media how would you do???

This is still a thing. I continue to have better luck in the vanilla world than I do on Fab.

Thus far, anyway. Only around 2 months in as yet.

Belfast

Only one house in the estate with a phone so when someone died in hospital or a nursing home all calls went to that house day and night and it was up to them to go knocking doors to pass on the news.

There was a phone box but it was 100 yards from one of the largest army bases in Western Europe so nobody used it. There were multiple clicks and noises on the line if you did use it for a taxi.

Local shop where I was often left in charge aged 9 or 10 while the owner nipped into her house for lunch or if no-one was available you just took what you needed and wrote it in the book and settled up later.

No own brand products and only one size and type of each cereal, washing powder etc.

Nobody had a new bike ever. When one kid got too big for the old one, it was left in a central area for anyone to use it or given to the neighbours kids. One man repaired all the bikes foc and we were riding bikes that were 30 and 40 years old.
