She extorted hundreds of millions in donations worldwide, and little to nothing ever reached the poor she claimed to be helping. In the words of Christopher Hitchens, "she was not a friend of the poor, she was a friend of poverty". She promoted suffering as a gift from God and opposed women's empowerment along with modern healthcare and equipment. In an era when the church was a horrible institution, she was leading the way! | |||
