Edict at concerts/ gigs

Have been to a few this year, Teddy Swims left early people talking through set. 2 Johnny's extra podcast well behaved considering. David Gray last night...people constantly talking, one person thought he was David Gray sang every song her thought he knew. Why have people no respect for the "artist" they are paying to see??

Since Covid etiquette has gone out the window at gigs

People chatting the whole way through the gig until the artist sings the hits they know

Then they take out the phones to video and prove they were there

They don't give a fuck about anyone else but themselves

Unfortunately the behaviour is part of society now

I've no issue with the odd one that they want people to sing along with ect, but every song I didn't pay to listen to the person next to me preform

I was there and completely agree with you. It was the worst I think I've ever seen it at a gig! The fact he felt he had to mention it and ask people to focus was really sad.

Exactly. Was at David Gray last night. I can’t understand why people que for a bar and miss half a concert . The songs they didn’t know , got up and walked around. The talking during it was brutal too. You could see David was pissed off and said it a few times about the drink and lack of respect. It was a great concert though.

Ok... always had my own take on Concerts in the Arena in Dublin,

no Bars open during the show , the amount of time you're getting up or letting people past to go to the bar during the show is totally not on & that would include the row in front of you , if people pay what they do for a ticket & then miss so much of the show because of alcohol..Sad ..drink will ALWAYS be available ..an artist only plays at the venue once ..maybe twice... three times if you're lucky but once gone ...it's gone ..but the beers will be there.

I wish these people would realise how much of a disturbance they are to people during the show that don't do this sort of behaviour.people pay top buck for tickets, a bit of respect would be very much appreciated.

Yes I saw it. He was clearly bothered by it.

I've seen DG live a few times and the crowd has never been like it was on Saturday. I still enjoyed the gig I just felt bad for him really.

Its such a shame - I got to quite a few gigs and its so true that many folk have become selfish sods at gigs post covid

it was bad enough having to listen to people slabbering the whole way through a gig when tickets cost 40 quid but now that most are two or three times that price its infuriating and mind boggling that people go to listen to 3 songs they know and talk through the rest!

Its why I tend to stand at gigs when possible as at least you can move elsewhere if theres a plank on broadcast mode beside you!

Had similar at a gig in Galway recently. A couple and a friend arrived in, sitting two rows in front of us. Stood up for all their favourite tunes, hands in the air, waving. Then the bloke, a big man half sitting in on the lady beside him, pulled out a flag!... Then any tune that didn't excite them, they'd sit-down and have a conversation for everyone to hear.

The lack of awareness or respect of those around them was staggering!

Ryan Adams was playing a gig in Belast at the weekend

Signs up all over the place and it was said over the P.A system

No flash photos

The artist has epilepsy

He left the stage during the show after complaining about the crowd going out for drink and going to the toilets all night and the flash photography

He came back after 30 mins and told the crowd he had a small seizure and again said no flash photography

Towards the end of the gig a group decided to see if they could make him have a seizure and they all started taking flash photos

That's the type of fuckwits at gigs nowadays

No talking at Mick Flannery in Vicar street last night and an excellent gig.

Iveagh Gardens in summer is like a gossip conference with the amount of people talking. Wankers should be told to fuck off to a pub somewhere if they came to chat with their mates all the way through a gig

At Bundoran last year he says to a couple who wouldn't shut up with the yakking " are you having a good time there? Coz I'm effking not"

Easier for security to chuck em out when they are sat down. And off they fecked.

I was lucky enough to attend this concert on Saturday night with a lady fabber and couldn't get over the ignorance of many of the crowd. As was already mentioned, people wandering in and out, talking during songs that perhaps weren't as well known, and absolute disregard for the artists on stage. At one stage he (David G) was telling a story about his father who has since passed and basically had to ask people to stop talking. He even referred to the 3Arena as the biggest bar in the world (alluding to the amount of people walking in and out to get even more drink). Big shout out to the lovely lady though who had a spare ticket and invited me along ! ( )

They were too far back for him to hear, he actually said the crowd was a great "listening crowd" saw him call a few people out in vicar street a few years back
