But he wasn't wearing a suit

I wonder what do the people who voted for Trump think of it or is there just blind loyalty

Delighted with the way Zelenskyy stood up for his people and country. Trump and Vance are nothing but bullied. Fair play to him for walking away. The US thinks it's way more important than it actually is.

Trump and Vance are just two bullies, they’re the ones I think dropped the ball on the global stage today

He did great and he's right to be furious and disappointed.

If only they were all such decent men

I agree he showed what it is to be a real leader with courage and patience to stand up for his people and country and them two fools beside him trying to make themselves look big and bully him into their Russian and greed filled corrupt minds. The US no longer stands for freedom and democracy only what they can gain out of it

It was awful to watch, like Zelenski had been baited and they were there to tear him apart. Totally insulting, treating him like an unruly subordinate rather than an elected leader of a sovereign state.

God knows what other whippings they intend to issue out, under these circumstances other nations should reconsider their plans to visit the White House.

Far far away

Trump and Vance showed their true colours. There complete lack of historical knowledge, actually correcting Zelenskky on dates and American journalists asking why he didn't wear a suit. The absolute arrogance and condescending matter was abhorrent to watch.

Trump desire for wealth above all makes him a perfect bedfellow for Putin.

Just saw on CNN that as soon as he got out of the car Trump turned to the press and said " nice to see someone dressing for the white house " .....I bet he wouldn't mention it if some rich Saudi king turned up in his traditional white robes

And Musk tweeted about it with a laughing face emoji.

Absolute bunch of cunts.

Personally I think Trump and Vance ambushed Zelenski, thinking they could bully him into a deal that would leave Ukraine in a financial hole for years to come. Trump made little of Biden and Obama in the interview again with false rhetoric. It was all played out for the cameras which is not how that sort of thing is done apart from films. Fair play to Zelenski for standing his ground.

The West

Trump lost face and looked like a dumb kid beside Macron and Starmer so b they used Zelensky to put on a show of force.

They sank the trade deal and made global headlines out of Russian talking points. It's a win for them.

Off the wall and obnoxious. I think peace is not high up on their agenda.

North Meath, beyond that there be dragons

I agree with everyone's sentiments here but unfortunately what we saw in screen will get twisted by Fox, NewsMax etc to make it look good for the NAGA constituents. This was premeditated. So much for the Macron and Starmer charm offensive. This means Europe is on its own. As a continent we need to man up.

One thing is for sure.... nobody outside of America can expect America to act as an ally any more as they are only interested in self-interest. Treatys and agreements in place are no longer worth the paper they are written on. Trump has upended America's relationship with the rest of the world and Europe can no longer rely on them for support and we are on our own to deal with Putin's aggression.

i travel all over

Whilst trump is an abhorrent character his position comes with significant power . He is a man child who needs managing , and by managing him some of his power may come your way . He has a massive ego and if he feels that this is sufficiently ‘massaged’ he ll do business I think .

The bullying stuff is typical of how he has contributed to lowering the standards and expectations of leaders . However wearing a suit and praising his interest and work in the conflict might have diffused things a little .

He might not have those expectations of rich Arab leaders but they have serious money the Ukraine doesn’t have . Zelenskyy is a bit too straight/decent and maybe inflexible in terms of managing trump . Plus the language barrier thing should have been managed better too .

I don’t expect much out of trump but his ego and awfulness is hardly news . The question is which leaders can manage him . Some have shown they can
