Delighted with the way Zelenskyy stood up for his people and country. Trump and Vance are nothing but bullied. Fair play to him for walking away. The US thinks it's way more important than it actually is.

I agree he showed what it is to be a real leader with courage and patience to stand up for his people and country and them two fools beside him trying to make themselves look big and bully him into their Russian and greed filled corrupt minds. The US no longer stands for freedom and democracy only what they can gain out of it

It was awful to watch, like Zelenski had been baited and they were there to tear him apart. Totally insulting, treating him like an unruly subordinate rather than an elected leader of a sovereign state.

God knows what other whippings they intend to issue out, under these circumstances other nations should reconsider their plans to visit the White House.

Trump and Vance showed their true colours. There complete lack of historical knowledge, actually correcting Zelenskky on dates and American journalists asking why he didn't wear a suit. The absolute arrogance and condescending matter was abhorrent to watch.

Trump desire for wealth above all makes him a perfect bedfellow for Putin.

Personally I think Trump and Vance ambushed Zelenski, thinking they could bully him into a deal that would leave Ukraine in a financial hole for years to come. Trump made little of Biden and Obama in the interview again with false rhetoric. It was all played out for the cameras which is not how that sort of thing is done apart from films. Fair play to Zelenski for standing his ground.

Trump lost face and looked like a dumb kid beside Macron and Starmer so b they used Zelensky to put on a show of force.

They sank the trade deal and made global headlines out of Russian talking points. It's a win for them.

I agree with everyone's sentiments here but unfortunately what we saw in screen will get twisted by Fox, NewsMax etc to make it look good for the NAGA constituents. This was premeditated. So much for the Macron and Starmer charm offensive. This means Europe is on its own. As a continent we need to man up.

One thing is for sure.... nobody outside of America can expect America to act as an ally any more as they are only interested in self-interest. Treatys and agreements in place are no longer worth the paper they are written on. Trump has upended America's relationship with the rest of the world and Europe can no longer rely on them for support and we are on our own to deal with Putin's aggression.

Whilst trump is an abhorrent character his position comes with significant power . He is a man child who needs managing , and by managing him some of his power may come your way . He has a massive ego and if he feels that this is sufficiently ‘massaged’ he ll do business I think .

The bullying stuff is typical of how he has contributed to lowering the standards and expectations of leaders . However wearing a suit and praising his interest and work in the conflict might have diffused things a little .

He might not have those expectations of rich Arab leaders but they have serious money the Ukraine doesn’t have . Zelenskyy is a bit too straight/decent and maybe inflexible in terms of managing trump . Plus the language barrier thing should have been managed better too .

I don’t expect much out of trump but his ego and awfulness is hardly news . The question is which leaders can manage him . Some have shown they can

I disagree.

Bowing at Trumps feet and kissing his ring wouldn't have even worked, though he obviously felt that was his due. The Americans had the script written (and it sounded like Russian propaganda) and they were gonna hit all their points no matter what.

Zelenskis choices were to limited and he chose to be himself and be a proud and loyal Ukrainian.

Trump thinks he's some sort of king and everyone should bow down to him when he is in fact a low intelligence narcissist who has surrounded himself by sycophants and yes people while being boosted by social media and media personalities. Him and that couch fucker made a show of themselves while alienating half of the world even more by that stunt they pulled.

Agree with this.

It was unfortunate on so many levels.

Zelenskyy showing up dressed appropriately would have been a very good start, regardless of what he has worn elsewhere in the past.

It was going to be perceived by Trump as disrespectful even if that was not what was intended.

He can't feckin answer a question about Lowry so when Trump asked why did we take 13 Billion off Apple he won't know where to look

He's letting everyone know there's still a war on in his country and when he's home he blends in more with the soldiers if there's an attack by Russians

This exactly.

The Orange Agent has always been Putin's puppet. It will take ordinary American citizens to wake up to the fact that the future of the country they hold so dear is now in the hands of Russia. The US has been stealthily invaded by Russia and is being run by a foreign agent......that a majority of them were thick enough to elect.

Wold democracy is being threatened because idiotic people cannot see through The Orange Peril.

At least Zelensky had the courage of his convictions and represented the citizens of Ukraine against an invader. The British political establishment does not have it in its psyche to understand what it is like to have their country overtaken and ruled by an invader.

Starmer's simpering to Trump shows just how weak the UK has become in terms of global influence.

A strong United Europe will lead the way as a geopolitical power for good.

The US has now decreed that Russia is not a risk for cyber-attacks. Their prevention teams fired too.

We have to judge by what is done and must reassess what we think the USA is now. After the atrocious mauling of Zelensky, they are not our closest allies and we need to reformulate

Making this a conversation about clothing is infantile while men, women and children burn. This is just Trump's narrative. This meeting went exactly how Trump and Vance wanted it to go. They can now make decisions with global consequences based on their poor hurt feelings. Total set up, thought Zelensky handled it pretty well.

Ireland conceded 6 counties and no winner was announced.

IMO...Zalensky needs to smarten up his appearance & "card game"

Turing up in the US expecting anything other than a deal to be done was naive.

Ukraine will have to concede ground/resources or face being obliterated. The risk of further advancement West is very real.

Europe does not have the might or funds to keep this invasion at bay.

Hopefully we see this get sorted soon, prevent further bloodshed and for people to return hometo rebuild their communities & country.

I think Zelensky is ready to concede some land, the issue is more that that there is nothing to stop Putin regrouping and just invading again because there is no military support being offered as part of these deals. Putin already broke the previous agreement. Any deal without this is just delaying the next invasion.

In 1994, in what is called the Massandra Accords, the United States mediated between Russia and Ukraine, the three countries signed the Trilateral Statement on January 14, 1994. Ukraine committed to full disarmament, including strategic weapons, in exchange for economic support and security assurances from the United States and Russia.

In 2014, Russia invaded Crimea and the USA did not follow through with their promise of securities.

In 2019, Zelensky signed an agreement with Putin to stop the fighting and have peace.

In February 24, 2022, Putin broke that agreement.

All Zelensky is asking for is a guarantee of security when signing the deal for the rare minerals. He is asking, how can he be guaranteed Ukraine will have security when past deals have been broken.

I think your missing a big chunk of that story.

ie. America,Nato and Russia signing an agreement in 1990 that nato doesn't move itself closer to the Russian boarder and Russian won't try restart the soviet union.

2014 was also the year America helped ukraine start a coup to change the presidency to someone they favoured and who favoured America.

Now saying all of that a few months into that Ukraine and Russia war putin called for an end to the war and the Ukraine president to come to the table only for Boris johnson to step in and ruined that chance.

There is a lot more going on that Trump and jd vance shite.

Them minerals deal would of helped ukraine pay back the monies owed back to America and probably of got him more weapons and ammo.

It concerns me that Europe haven't tried to step in and helped to stop the war.

Bringing Russia and Ukraine together to prevent more deaths on both sides should be the main aim for everyone.
