Our neighbours were in aus over Xmas and there was a problem with there water and basically we saved them from lots of damage just because there nice people and they got the kids loads of sweets and a £40 voucher for us which was a big surprise as we never thought about anything other than helping them

Dublin/London

I have a lovely older widow next door whose husband passed away last year. He was a great man for the garden. Greener fingers then I’ll ever have.

These days when I cut my grass, I’ll pop in and do hers, cut back what needs cutting, nothing major, 30mins work.

Problem is, now every single time she does her groceries she brings me back things like eclairs and cakes. Dangerous for the waist on a weekly basis

A work colleague bought me a mug that says “Ciotóg” on it because he was buying one for his son. I appreciated it

A friend and his wife moved into their home over ten years ago and since then they’ve been talking about renovating it. Between babies being born and few family bereavements, covid and life in general it kept on being put on hold. Then a few years ago I started doing work for their preferred builder and as we were coming to the end of one project I jokingly said “oh I hear your off down to do my buddies place next” to which he said if they could be ready in the next month he’d start it or else it would be 12 months before he’d get to it. Skip forward 7 months and they moved into their dream home just before Christmas ( still a few small jobs to finish). I didn’t get anything tangible out of it other than the excitement of being able to help them out and the video he sent of his kids running around their new home, picking out their new bedrooms.

Isn’t that what is all about

Area 54

I work in a hospital so we are always getting cards and sweets and even the occasional teddy bear. It's nice to be appreciated every now and then

I work with inclusive learning and we were in the gym last week. One student was very apprehensive about going on any of the machines (fear of falling off) but with a little coaching I managed to get her on 3. She had the biggest grin on her face and I got the biggest hug from her......just made my day.
