Far far away

Is there an era when you remember being the happiest? It was the noughties.

Prob my early 30s. Travelled extensively. Had money. Lots of laughter and no major stress.

done the travelling in twenties, worked hard in twenties to get to where I want and now have a kid, house and a dog. Im pretty happy how my life is now

For me it's right now. Had a great time through my teens,20,30sand 40s. Now I'm appreciating how life has been so good . I'm not rich, but can go on 3 or 4 holidays a year seeing places I could only dream of when younger.

My early twenties, house bought, loads of money, travelled loads, plenty of sex, no stress. 30s were the complete opposite but I feel I’m just back to the early twenties feel again now I’m through my divorce, and illness, and have good people around me again. Life is looking good

My 20's were exciting. Got married, travelled, had my kids, built our house.

30's kids were my priority

40's I was able to concentrate on my career.

50's kids grown up and left home, family caring duties.

Late 50's to date I am feeling most contented now. As the Badger says - No work stress, no financial worries, family sorted.....and still having fun.

I lost my teens and 20s to being closeted, alcoholic, and suicidally depressed.

Today I'm sober, I have a roof over my head, and I'm living out and proud as a woman. I haven't got two pennies to rub together but I wake up grateful to be alive every morning. I'm happier than I've ever been by a long shot.

I don't know the answer..

At the age of 19/20 life was carefree and most of the people I had known and loved all my life were all still alive. Sex was plentiful and everything about adult life was new, exciting and full of potential.

Now in my late fifties, a lot of people I loved are gone but new people that I love have appeared so it has balanced out.

No, I can't really say when I've been happiest. That bacon and egg roll a few minutes ago was spectacular though.

February 20th 1995

I was driving home roaring crying and then smiling after a meeting

20 years of hurt and pain and I started the fight back

I always said I'd try to do it before I was 30 and it was the day before my 30th birthday

I think we have have points in our life when we happy. Don't think a person can be happy all the time.

I turned 50 last year and I finally feel content in my life, for the first time I'm learning to love myself as I am, not who I should be for other people.

Different types of happiness. Momentary happiness of seeing your children's achievements or getting a promotion or payrise at work. Then there's longer term happiness you think back on when life was less pressured, going out not knowing or caring how you'd get home. Long days in the pub with friends you don't even get to see anymore. I remember a Summer approx 1995 living in the sticks and setting off thumbing with my friend every Friday and Saturday evening. We must have walked 200 or 300 miles that Summer hoping for lifts that often never came but I look back now and think how happy we were not having to be anywhere in particular.

I've had some happy times over the years, won't say too much or I'd be giving myself away but last year, fab wise, it was a fantastic and eventful year for me, I met and got to know my fwb and has become a good friend!! I enjoyed the fab socials, some very different to normal!! I joined 2 fab walking groups which has been great, seen some fantastic places, gosh Ireland is a great country, so many fantastic scenes, seen places that I would not have seen if I hadn't rejoined fab!!

I went to PDI which to me was my first holiday that was for me and not for family reasons!! I went there solo as well but it was great to have met up with fab people there as well!! I fitted in a lot during the time I was there too!!

She was only out of a long term relationship, and I guess I just caught her on the rebound and after a few weeks she realized she was still hurting and was not ready for a relationship. I probably tried too hard to make it work, we're still friends now but nothing more 😔 Apologies for bringing the happiness thread to a low point, I almost regret posting my story now🙈

I honestly don't know probably early twenties when life was carefree for a while I didn't realise then how great it was though.

Life has many ups and downs. I've had great days and some awful ones too like everyone else. But to try and cherish the good days helps the bad ones go faster. Well hopefully anyhow I'm probably talking a load of rubbish as I'm tired . 😁

Think from my mid 20’s to 35 was at my happiest. Major down turn after that. Today I find myself single again and loving going to socials and meeting friends and new people. But I feel as if there is still something missing. I know what it is but if I’m honest I’m too afraid of going after it and I know I’m not ready to go after it.
