I saw this on one of my recent threads and it gave me a bit to think about. I was talking to a woman not too long ago in a sexual manner and I kind of felt wrong saying "I'd fuck you". It's not exactly a word that implies passion but what can you say? Is "make love" not a bit odd? Sometimes fuck is fine but I just felt it was a bit insulting.

Rejection was the word that got me thinking about my language again. What words do you think get overused/misused?

You could have said you'd do the bold thing with her.

Overused words... I nominate "literally". It's probably also the most incorrectly used word.

"babe, honey, darling 😤😡😤"

I know a pregnant woman in Darling NSW and she has a number of productive beehives. I don't know how to talk to her about anything now.

Is it not always best practice to air on the side of caution so that you don't put your foot in it

Co. Cork

HIKE, as in "take a hike"

BLOCK, as in "block and tackle".

TACKLE, as in "I'd block your

tackle any day"

Two extremes here, your right both a bit cringe and awkward so sometime in between maybe….
