It's just another fork or Dominance/submission. The sub is giving something that they may find painful/difficult in order to please the Dom and demonstrate to them that they are submissive to the Dominant. Many submissives enjoy being used in different ways that others may not understand.

There are definitely situations where findom is just pure financial abuse. As with all D/s there needs to be boundaries and ethics, and true care and consent between anyone involved. It would be easy to step into unethical territory here.

The cliche (which is partly true) is that wealthy men in positions of power, who make decisions all day long, enjoy submissive sexual roles as it allows them to switch off in a way they don't get in their everyday lives. They are emasculated by passing chunks of their wealth over to a Dominant woman who ensures that they are made small and encouraged to do acts of service or degradation which they crave.

This is totally true.

Findom has that very fine line with paypigs. So some people might confuse paypigs to findoms.

Both need to have an ethical base.

I mean you're right, someone who puts themselves into a submissive position is obviously vulnerable to exploitation. It's the same with someone who it tied up, or who is photographed in a compromising situation, or wearing a PVC hood or a ball gag. Findom is the same. A very high level of trust is placed once power is exchanged in a D/s relationship. This isn't something to be just given away to a man down the pub. Trust should be built up over time and earned by both parties.

Fetish's are what they are and often provide a deep level of restoration, comfort and safety for a sub when they have placed their trust completely in someone.
