No water here. Own well source.

Other than that I've no clue as I'm renting!

Power was out for 24 hours but came back last night.

Still no water in the cold tap in kitchen.

What next folks?

Forgive my ignorance.

Oh and you might wanna turn off the electricity to the pump if there is zero water anywhere. The well may be frozen and so the pump may run constantly which will fuck it up.

Are you saying you have your own well OP?

Some of the older style pumps needed to be primped if they were turned off for prolonged periods of time. You may need a plumber to call. Otherwise check trip switches and make sure they’re all in the correct positions

Buying water is the obvious one, which I don't need advise on! 😂

It's what to do next regarding the pump is what I'm asking.

Since I can't answer your question geralt I'll just play the waiting game.

There's a well get servicing 3 cottages and the landladies home.

After that I haven't a clue tbh!

Think I'll leave it up to her for now.

Unfortunately it sounds like your landlord needs to contact a plumber

Definitely have a chat with the owner/landlady as they'll need to resolve the issue not you. Hope it can be sorted soon for you OP. 🍀

If your power is gone, then the pump would be too. Moat house water pumps run off the electrical mains nowadays.

You could ask the landlord to install a solar panel just for the pump house down the line.

If its off this morning once power is back, pour warm (not boiling) water on the pipe coming out from the pump, possibly just frozen when the electricity came back

There's a red pressure vessel somewhere in the pump house, sometimes there's a reset button on top of a small electric box on top of the vessel. Try that, check fuse box, it may have tripped when restarting

Same set up here. Trip switch to pump may be off. Or well frozen or pipes coming in to house frozen. If temp is up and everyghing is thawed may be a problem with pump

Apparently there's a esb line down at the shed where pump is so that's the reason. Understandably won't be a priority either for a while so it's a case of sitting tight.

The mad thing is, the 3 cottages have power but the main house/landlady's is still without.

These must be on a different line and amn't I damn glad for that!!

Maybe there is a leak somewhere and it's emptied the well? There is no shortage of wet weather. Can you see into the well? Does the pump sound different than usual? - if so,could be knackered or running dry. If the pipe coming from the well to the pump was disconnected, and water came flowing out, it points to gammy pump
