Sorry to hear about this, OP.

There used to be something called Chloraseptic™ which was an anaesthetic spray to numb the throat, available from pharmacies. Other than that the antibiotics should hopefully kick in sooner rather than later. Feel better soon. 🦋

Ah thanks a million.

I've Difflam spray too.

Human nature...we take our health for granted at times, but by jesus when we go down with a rotten ole dose we soon realise not to!

You can try gargling (1/2 teaspoon of salt per 200 ml of water) and drinking warm infusions of sage and chamomile.

I use propolis, few drops directly in the throat, otherwise drink or gargle 4-5 drops in half glass of warm water. Do it twice a day

Thanks for your replies folks.

I'll have to go with what I have in for now as haven't the energy to stir out.

Tomorrow maybe.

It's at times like this I feel at my most vulnerable. This living alone lark isn't all it's cracked up to be!

So, I've pulled something from the grandmother's book of remedies that's tried and tested.

Will take you 24 hours to make which I understand doesn't suit your time line but always works for me so for the future.

Big onion chopped, proper local honey not that syrup shite, cloves, garlic, nettles.

Get a jam jar, add all the solid ingredients, fill 70% of the remain jar with honey. The rest top off with water. Leave over night, stain the next morning. That stained juicy goodness is rocket fuel for your body. 2 large spoon fulls 3 times a day. Gargle in mouth and throat.

I've never had something it couldn't cure.

Now that sounds interesting!

So, just the dried cloves?

Nettles, I'll need to go foraging!

Garlic, onion and proper honey I have.

I'll give it a try.

Thanks for this!

Wonder how long would it keep in the fridge?

The medicine I usually redo once a month. Needs to be kept in the fridge as it will ferment if kept in room temp.

Cloves, garlic, ginger - all have healing properties. Only add what you can stand flavour wise tho. I put a lot in because I want to be better sooner.

Higher number cloves if you have sinus or nasal issues.

Higher garlic if you have airway issues

I kept ginger out of it, but if you are feeling run down grind in ginger and strain, gives energy boost
