Most people look at the the profile before even opening the message so the bulk of your effort should go into creating the best possible profile.

Patience patience patience. Be selective about who you message, and understand that single women are absolutely inundated by messages from single men with very little to distinguish one from the rest. I get absolutely swamped, I can only imagine how much worse it is for cis women who actually *are* seeking single straight men.

There is nothing worse than receiving a mesage that is clearly being copied and pasted to everybody in a hundred mile radius. It's insulting.

A good selection of pics and a bio that reflects your personality and gives as much info as you are comfortable giving on here.

Don't rely on others asking questions, you have to do the hard work and be patient.

Read the profile of the person/people you're about to message thoroughly and make sure you fit into the categories they are looking for.

If they make it clear they aren't interested in single men in their bio, don't be surprised if they don't respond or block when you decide to try your luck anyhow.

Not saying you're guilty of this but we get loads of messages each day from people who either don't bother reading the profile or just ignore our preferences and message anyway.

We don't want to filter all because sometimes we'll get messages related to posts on the forums etc and we don't mind those coming through but sometimes we're tempted to just set a filter and stop them all.
