There are many accents in Ireland, the Derry accent and the Cork accent for instance sound nothing like each other. The Midlands are very flat and in Dublin you have two very distinct ones too.

I'm quite happy with my own accent but if I had a choice of an alternative Irish accent I'd choose the one broadcaster Jonathan McCrea has(Futureproof on Newstalk 106-108fm or online via the GoLoud app)

I've mentioned him to a few Fab ladies from across the water who love listening to Irish accents.Their feedback on Mr McCrea's Malahide accent has been....gushing but it's an individual thing; so your lady might not find his voice to her liking but then again.....
