Yes, I ran a club in Dublin. We advertised in Buy and sell. It was a great success.

Front lounge was one anyway

As for magazines, to add to buy and sell there was In Dublin. Also the MSN/yahoo chat rooms and I remember that O2 chat room mentioned above also. There was websites called irish-swingers and alternative Ireland. Swingers Europe website merged and became sdc.

Absolutely happened. If one was lucky enough to be invited to a certain table at the Golf/Rugby club dinner dance.

Was everyone happy with their lot? Seems like a massive risk being paired with someone you didn't fancy.

Personally preferred an RS2000 but you would get the odd Hillman Hunter

I remember there were specialist magazines. Where there was a willy, there was a way.

Perhaps more important is, people weren't actually as conservative (in a sexual sense) in the past as is popularly imagined. Grandma had 12 kids somehow, there were higher libidos and my feeling is that simply having sex frequently makes you trad at this point. Zoomers literally aren't doing anything.

I was told by a seasoned swinging couple that they used to place ads in THE FARMERS JOURNAL. Am guessing the scriptwriters for Emmerdale must have taken note

Someone on here previously mentioned their parents going to tubberware parties in the 80s and that airtight container had a different meaning.

We have tubberware containers at homeplace for pasta, cereal etc

Lived in Germany many years ago, great contact magazine there at the time called "Happy Weekend". Think it was fortnightly, best 5DM I'd spend......had couples, singles and lists of all the clubs nationwide!

Many happy memories!!!!

There used to be an adult sex shop in Bray in the early 90's called Utopia products, they had a notice board in the shop where you post your interests and also leave your information with the shop owner. They also provided a cameraman service with a big VHS movie camera.
