Our Southern Fab Walking Group has been taking it easy for the past while but looking forward to getting out and about again early in 2025.

Well verified couples or singles can pm for more details and to be added to the Tel*gr*m group chat.

"Interested in walking group also"

Both groups that I am aware of on here are based in the South West and South East of the country respectively.

Perhaps a few people from the North/North West could get a group together for the northern area.

Anyone know of any in the Belfast area. I'm out hiking every week and enjoy the physical fitness element of it and the fresh air. Would be good to have company.

There are two easy walks in North Co Wicklow not far from Dublin

Vartry Reservoir need Roundwood. There is a carpark just before Roundwood village free last time i was there. There are 3 walks. Full walk around the shore of the lakes is 17k mostly flat. There are 2 shorter walks.

Glendalough around upper lake. Park at either lower or upper carpark. Toilets at both carparks. Walk on right side when you get to upper lake to miners village. Walk up hill to footbridge. Cross over walk along path up hill you come to spincs and follow route beside upper lake great views.

Anyone wants to join me on walks let me know please. Hope to do Vartry mid January. Both take 2 to 4 hours at steady relaxed pace.

.....

Good to see some interest in walking in the Dublin area.

It can be informal with not too many fussy rules but with well verified fabbers only, to ensure complete discretion for those attending the walks.

If someone organises it, they will come.

And somewhere nice for coffee and a chat afterwards is most important.

There is also various walks around Howth Head.

One of my favourite is to get dart to Sutton and cross over and head to Sutton cross. Walk straight on till you see shore line follow road till you come to entrance to howth head follow route passed Martello tower all the way to Bailey light house and then into howth village. Have a meal and pint in Wright's near dart station
