Thick fleece bottoms, heavy socks. Hot water bottle at my feet.

In the 80's it was very common for us men on the building sites to wear tights under our jeans to keep warm

First time I wore tights was up in the Highlands in 1982. Thought the lads were taking the piss at first, till they showed the were wearing them. They were a godsend.
