I don't think many people would ask that question in a bar to a complete stranger.

However given that this is a swinger's site and the underlying theory is people are on here to meet for sex,some people think it's fine to ask that straight up. Usually because they are horny at the time themselves and presume others are the same.

And I would think that it usually is a complete and utter failure as an opening for them as well.
