You are correct - The actual bag is because more and more are removing plastics - so the amount of leaf is reduced because the weight can't take it. Leaf tea is the way to go for good quality strong tea. I haven't properly made the switch but working on it.

As long as the bag or bags are left in long enough and no milk is added until the bag is removed then either Lyons or Barry's are good. Not many would pass the taste difference test.

Over the years i stopped both milk and sugar. I can't tell any difference between the usual brands.

I was introduced to "proper" tea leaves by an eastern european lady, and not the Lyons or Barrys ones. I couldn't believe the difference on that. But it does take a lot longer to make, so now I've a pot on the go from just after lunch.
