Again I don't completely disagree... But order also has to be maintained. There are lots of elected officials who may have run on emotive platforms. Outbursts can happen but need to be managed as such so that they don't happen for mundane subjects | |||

Did the last referendum in Australia return a vote to remain part of the Commonwealth? Did Australians not overwhelming vote against giving more political rights to indigenous people and against amending their constitution to recognise First Nations people? Perhaps Ms Thorpe is levelling her anger at the wrong person 🤷♀️" ....... No, Charley wouldn't have the balls to commit anything. But the monarchy that he represents did in many lands over many centuries to build their empire and live in luxury in their palaces. Strip Charley down to his boxers and he is no different from any ordinary man. What right has he to see himself as being privileged and to put himself above others. Royalty as an institution is an insult to ordinary hard working people whose taxes go to support a class that make no worthwhile contribution to society. | |||

Even in strong democracies, there are alot of marginalized people screaming (blue mur.der) "The most recent referendum showed a remaining rump of support for the British Royal Family because of the shared experience in both World Wars. But there has been a significant demographic shift in Australia over the past 10 years. The influx of Irish, Eastern European and Asian immigrants and a more outward looking young Australian population will have a significant influence on the result the next time such a referendum takes place. | |||
