For the time of the year

Anything spooky ever happen to you

Did any strange coincidences freak you out

Do you see dead people

Tell us a tale that will sent shivers up our spines

Once upon a time.. I had joined a website that was full of fun, frolics and debauchery.. then when looking through the many delightful humans.. I came across a siblings profile..

I knew it was them for their face was on their profile. I was shocked, horrified! I instantly blocked them and hid my profile for a week…

The End.. lol

When I was 7 or 8 I wrote a story for homework about getting out of bed in the middle of the night and going outside where I had a chat with my great aunt and uncle who lived next door.

I said how my great uncle took his flat cap off and gave it to me a a gift and I finished the story by saying I went back to bed happy because he had died 10 years before I was born and it was good to chat to him.

That freaked the teacher out and she told my dad who was also freaked out because apparently the uncle hadn't been wearing his cap the week before he died and he told his wife he had given it to a young lad he met on the street.

There was no way I could have known that.

The other spooky part of the story was that less than a week later the great aunt died and when her daughter was going through her things she found a picture of her parents taken in the 1940s with her older brother who died when he was only 7.

The brother was wearing his dad's cap and looked exactly like me.

Mom said she was sleeping... She lied! She lied!

Why oh why is my cat dead? Couldn't that Chrysler hit me instead?

We moved house when I was 18. The house we moved to was built in the 1600's.

When the bed in my room was orientated a certain way, against a specific wall, facing the doorway to the room, every night I would feel a presence at the end of the bed watching me. There was no ill intent felt and I was never scared, but the presence was definitely there.

Sometimes I would wake up at night and swear that I could catch a glimpse of a woman in the room dressed like a maid or nurse from the period. Or certainly a period much older than the 20th century.

We just moved to a new house when I was around 3. All my family went out and my parents left my sister to babysit who was around 15. So late in the night she is watching TV when she hears me howling laughing in my room. She comes up and I'm sitting I bed still laughing. My sister asks me what I'm laughing at? And I say the lady in the blue dress standing behind you. She's so funny ! Cue my sister screaming and still tells me about it to this day !

Mabey this isn't spooky but here goes....when we all about 12/13 one of our friends died tragically, the morning of the funeral in the cemetery this beautiful feather landed just beside the grave, we all took a look and couldn't figure out the type of bird...

Over the year's we all went our separate ways and never really kept in contact i always thought about the feather and got it tattooed on my shoulder, found out over the year's all the friend group got the same tattoo done on either their shoulder or back...

Mad story, and sorry to change the tone a bit but... I read this as his 'cat flap' instead of his 'flat cap'.

Got as far as the third paragraph just thinking "why would someone take their cat flap off their door and hand it to a kid" until you mentioned him wearing his cap...

As kids we followed a hare into the local cemetery and as we searched for it among the headstones an adult voice said,

"get out of here".

We saw no person and we ran like hell.

(In Irish mythology old women were said to change themselves into a hare to escape from people).

In the mid 80s I was installing equipment in a well known pub in Belfast city centre.

The assistant manager was helping me carry it upstairs.

He was walking backwards holding one end and halfway up he dropped it completely, screamed in a high pitched voice and ran off leaving me stuck on the stairway.

The manager heard the commotion and came to see what was going on and was able to help me the rest of the way.

Then we both went looking for the other guy and found him hiding in a cubicle in the gents shaking like a leaf.

When he calmed down he said a woman in a white dress had walked out of the wall on my right hand side, passed between us and through the equipment and went through the wall on the other side.

I hadn't seen a thing but the manager went and got a picture that was hanging in the lounge.

It was an old blueprint of the premises from the early 1800s and it showed that there had been 2 doorways there before the stairs were installed.

Some of the older staff members and a few customers had apparently seen the woman at different times over the years.

Woke up one night sweat dripping off my head. I was lying on the flat of my back. My room was pitch black. I felt like I wasn't alone in the room. I tried sitting up. I couldn't move. Not a muscle. I tried to speak. Nothing. I got so freaked out. My heart was pounding in my chest. I could hear my voice in my head screaming but I wasn't making a sound. I lay there for what seemed like hours but was probably minutes before finally the presence I felt seemed to dissipate. I jumped out of the bed and ran out of the room. Couldn't explain it then and can't explain it to this day

The West

In my early twenties I was asleep in bed with my girlfriend.

I woke up screaming curled up in the corner on the opposite side of the room. GF said I jumped from the bed clear across the room and it was the scariest sound she ever heard. It took hours to calm me down

I still have no idea what I was dreaming about but I've never felt pure terror like that since.

About 6 months after my dad died he appeared at the foot of my bed and in his distinctive Cork city accent told me that I was "doing a grand job boi" as he had often said when I helped him with DIY tasks as a child.

I had never before or since experienced such a vivid dream or had the feeling of an actual presence.

& around

I've got a freaky story about a Ouija board,,,,,,,,And I don't even believe in all that kind of stuff. I always believed if I wasn't pushing the coin, someone else was!!

I remember doing a Ouija board in the very early 90s, pre internet days and we got chatting to some evil spirit called Gog, the only reason I remember his name was he said one of the girls was gonna die later that week, she didn't, she's still alive now, but she freaked the fuck out.

So years later I read a book called The Bible Code II by Michael Drosnin in 2005 or something and I got fascinated with the End of Days. At the time I was sharing a flat with a Rastafarian from Birmingham and he gives me two of his books that have sections relating his beliefs in regards to the End of Days.

They stated that in the End of Days, the Devil will send his top two generals Gog and Magog to wreak havoc on earth and mans last stand will be in the valley of the kings and according to Rastafarian beliefs, mans last general, man's last hope, will be born on such and such date.

My birthday!!! So that kinda makes me like some kind of biblical John Connor, Luke Skywalker, bad ass mother fucker.

It also got me thinking, like no one on the middle green that day, as wee 12/13 year olds, would have ever heard of or known whom Gog or Magog were.

It sent shivers down my spine, freaked me out for a while. I can't help but feel like, we are mortal enemies him and I. Him and someone born on my birthday are destined to battle it out. He saw an opportunity to check one of us out, eye one of us up, test our mettle, obviously he didn't like what he saw and thought, that young man is a formidable foe, I'd do well stay stay well clear.

I had this once...trying to scream and no noise came out after waking from a nightmare when I thought there was someone in the room with me. It was the scariest feeling. Only for the milkman clanking bottles outside that jolted me and made me able to move.

Years ago I was staying in a little house that my mum had bought from a relative. I was in the box room upstairs. I had this thing about locking the bedroom door while I'm in bed. Half hour passes, I can't sleep. I literally felt someone sit on the end of the bed. I wasn't dreaming. No one could have got in through the locked door. My heart was beating so fast, I was to scared to open my eyes or move. I slowly pulled the covers up to my eyes and stayed that way until daylight.

Behind The Bales

When I was 11 my grand aunt who I was very close too, as she had no children or grandchildren of her own, passed away the might she when into hospital a lot of my family were called in to say goodbye, I went to bed that night with most of my family gone into the hospital at the time I didn't know she was in hospital, my family didn't want to worry me and my sister. Later that night in the early hours I woke to find her sitting on the end of my bed, not unsual as normally on a Saturday morning after returning from shopping in town she would call to see me and my sister and always had some form of treat for us. I remember her distinctly saying to me to go back asleep and that everything will be fine. I woke hours later and everyone had returned from the hospital and broke the news that she had passed away during the night. I never told my family about that night weather it was a dream or a real visit i think she did come to say goodby in some form.

Babylon

On a quiet hill in the Irish countryside stood an old, crumbling stone cottage. A century had passed since its last inhabitant, and its roof sagged under thick, wild ivy. But on one crisp autumn evening,I as a young boy wandered up to it, drawn by a dare. My friends had teased m, saying I wouldn’t be brave enough to spend the night there. They had told me of the old woman who once lived there, a woman who, it was whispered, could never find rest.

When I stepped inside, the air was thick with dust and cold as winter. The sun had just set, casting the small room in eerie shadows. I peered into the corners, half-expecting to see some sign of the long-gone woman—a whisper, perhaps, or a faint footprint. But there was nothing but silence and cobwebs.

In the far corner of the room, I spotted an old iron-framed bed, covered with a thin, brittle sheet. It looked impossibly clean, untouched by the dirt that filled the rest of the cottage. I felt my heart hammering with a mix of fear and excitement as i moved toward it. I figured I could rest there, just for a moment, before running back to town to tell my friends I had spent the night in the haunted house.

The moment I lay down, I felt a strange warmth envelop me. It was comforting, like a soft woolen blanket draped over me. I closed my eyes, letting my guard down just for a moment. But that was when i felt it—the weight of another body sinking into the bed beside me.

I shot upright, my heart pounding, and looked around the room. There was no one there. Just shadows dancing on the walls.

Trying to convince myself it was my imagination, i lay back down, this time curling up on my side. I squeezed my eyes shut, willing myself to sleep. But just as i began to drift off, i felt something—something cold and bony—pressing down on my shoulder.

With a gasp, I sat up, only to see her.

The old woman, her face withered and gray, sat at the edge of the bed, looking right at me. Her eyes were deep, hollow pits, yet somehow they seemed to stare straight into my soul. She didn’t speak, didn’t move; she simply sat there, as if she’d been waiting for me for a very long time.

“Who... who are you?” I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper.

The woman’s mouth stretched into a wide, unsettling smile, showing teeth that were jagged and black. “You’re in my bed,” she croaked, her voice like the creaking of old wood. “I’ve waited so long... for someone to join me.”

I scrambled backward, but the bed felt like it was swallowing me, pulling me toward her. I tried to scream, but no sound came out. The walls of the room seemed to twist and darken, as if the cottage were closing in around us.

The last thing I saw was the old woman reaching for me, her icy fingers brushing my face.

The next morning, my friends returned, expecting to find me bragging about my courage. But the cottage was empty—no sign of me, save for the faint outline of a body on the old bed, pressed into the dust like a shadow. And every now and then, on quiet Irish nights, people say you can see a young boy peering out from the cottage window, his eyes wide with terror, forever bound to the old woman’s bed and remembering his first pegging experience.

Years ago I was in college. I stayed in digs and roomed with a guy i never met before. One night we were chatting and he mentioned that a friend of his was in the same college as my gf and asked me her name. When I told him he said his friend had been with a girl with the same first name. Long story short; it was her!

just about northside

My Mother visited me in a dream moments before I was woken by the phone to say she has just passed away. I experience plenty of premonitions. A psychic once told me I had the same ability as them. And before you go all skeptical I’m mr skeptic and was stunned by the abilities this person had

Portstewart

One of the places I used to work in is haunted with multiple spirits and personally I've seen 4 of them and all with other witnesses never really freaked me out just thought it was a cool experience and the least favourite was hearing a rope rubbing like it was swinging to enter the room and see the washer boy swinging from the ceiling
