Far far away

Talking about papers this morning got me thinking.

Do people buy newspapers anymore. Is it a Sunday only or daily.

Do you go online?.

Will we live in a paperless world in the future?

Personally l love a newspaper..like a new book feel. But in an age of immediate consumption of media, is the death knell there.

I haven't bought a paper or magazine in approximately 20 years.

I don't read the online versions either but at the same time it must be at least 10 or 12 years since I last watched TV news.

I've never actually sat and read Sunday papers at any stage in my life. If I'm not up a mountain on a Sunday morning I'm usually working such as today.

I operate a full news black out. Used to be a total news junky right to until trump got elected. At that point I just gave up and now my Reddit feed is full of cats and kids falling over.

Can't remember the last time I bought a newspaper.

Won't ever buy another I don't think I prefer digital versions.

And I prefer am audio medium where possible I digest the information easier that way

Good questions.

It's probably a generational decision.

The younger generation grew up on-line.

The less younger have the habit of buying a paper, although personally it's probably gone to weekend only, unless a special midweek supplement.

Its nice to sit down, relax reading a paper and enjoy a tea/coffee.

Going online is so easy and convenient, probably leading to paperless society in the future. A positive for the environment.

Like everything in life, practices change and evolve....for the better is debatable

Only buy a yearly sub of each when they're on special offer

The Sunday Times and daily Times cost 5 euro per year in total

I used to love the Sunday Indo but newspapers have seen their day, it's yesterday's news now.

Fake news, various different perspectives and recollections. It will get harder to distill the truth.

I haven’t bought a newspaper since my father passed away, would it be more a generational thing?

I usually get my little bit of news from the Journal or if I hear wind of something I’d go look it up on t-internet from various sources

I used to buy a daily newspaper, an evening edition and a couple of Sunday papers.

But not for the past 15 years or more.

Neither do I have a fax machine, a land line telephone, a Walkman/cassette player, a black & white tv, burn smokey coal, or go dancing at the crossroads.

Frustrated with the one sided opinionated reporting but guess you will get that irregardless of what newspaper you read.

I'm sitting here with the SBP which is just under €5. The cost alone is very prohibitive. I can understand why yearly subs would make more sense. I'll be shaking in my boots in the media world now.

I never but the paper, but I like to go for coffee on a Sunday where they have the sunday indo.

While I generally get my news online via twitter etc I find the paper offers some opinions that I wouldn't read online so helps to balance out my world view a bit.

I do miss the IT crossword though
