So probably over thinking here but any tips for socials etc I’d like to boost my skills at breaking the ice and chatting at socials and in general nights out. So all advice is welcome.

Are you talking morning coffee socials or the evening socials?

Been to neither yet myself, but my advice is just be yourself?

If you know someone going to the social, you can ask them to help you if you feel overwhelmed.

Other than that, people will come talk to you unless you're hiding in the corner. There seems to be 2 main sides to fab from what I've experienced so far, the social side and the sex side. Most people end up staying for the social side it seems, so they are looking to meet and talk to new people. Might not lead to anything on the sex side, but that's the same as being down in the pub trying to chat people up.

Just one other thing and this isn't aimed at the op in any way but at the other guys reading who are new, the people at the socials are just that, people. You treat them with the respect that you would if they were your friends, family or work colleagues, just cause we are on a site for sex doesn't mean that you can treat them like blow up dolls.

That's all I can say.

Don’t be a dickhead and you should be fine. Talk to people with respect and have zero expectations.

Most of your verifications are from group socials and describe you as a great lad with the banter and very sociable so I'm struggling to understand the point of the thread.

Well you have it all worked out to a T.

When I go to my first social, wouldn't mind having you alongside to put me a easy.

Alot of people over think socials, I find them similar to a night out at the pub where you don't know anyone, but will guarantee you that at the end of the night someone will be talking to you.

The more socials you do the easier it is to feel comfortable.

There is always that one social where is super chilled.

Try DV8 Sunday social, I found that one to be the best one for a social - they have a pool take

We're new to this ourselves and found the DV8 Sunday Social brilliant. Very friendly bunch and got chatting to people very easily. Ended up at our first party last weekend as a result.

Most socials are just like ordinary nights out. In some cases chat groups in the run up to the actual event is a good way to break the ice before attending. Once at the event, just be chilled and respectful and go from there .
