Meath / Dublin / Birmingham

I'm not a beer snob whatsoever and I'll just as often drink a mainstrem Moretti or a Carlsberg or whatever is on draught where I am, but a few faves over the past few years that took my fancy and wouldn't be as widely got would be

Ambush by Trouble Brewing

Jump for Juice Passion Fruit by Vocation

Rebel Red by Franciscan Well

High Wire Grapefruit by Magic Rock

Wunderbar IPA by Rascals

Brú Lager by Brú

Arcadia Kolsch by Wicklow Wolf

Poachers Pale Ale by Carrig

Gamma Ray by Beavertown

Leffe Ruby by Leffe

Haven't had some of these in a fair while so some could well be discontinued...

It depends on the weather for sure.

I suppose I like the APAs and the DIPAs but I also love a good Guinness, on a really hot day I'll murder a few Coronas too, beer is good.

South Down

Had some lovely beers while in Belgium recently - Floris Honey wheat beer, Pink Killer, and Leffe Ruby were my favourites.

I'm normally a cider girl, but when in Rome (or Brussels) 😄

Dunboyne

White Hag Atlantean

Trouble Brewing Ambush

Boundary Brewing Imbongo

Vocation Crush Hour

Bru IPA

Galway Bay Full Sail

Kinnegar Scraggy Bay

Abita Purple Haze

Lastly a home brew

Mangrove Jacks Juicy Session IPA.

Any of the above put a smile on my face and make my taste buds come alive

Not at all. One of my locals were serving bottles of it one fine summer's day last year. I helped myself to a few... not realising until a few deep that they were 8% 🥴

Im goin be bold here and say, cmon, this gimck of craft beers (IPAs) look into what an real IPA is, over malty or hoppy shite. A craft beer is meamt to be a beer brewed in small batches, bjt when its freely available in most pubs it aint a craft beer. I did enjoy the Italian beers, morrettie, peroni. But an bottle of carling XL out the fridge n a half pint glass was something else. From a waterford lad.

Galway

Innis & Gunn. They have a few variants but their original one is my favourite. It's a red ale from a brewery in Edinburgh and is absolutely divine, having taken flavour from the bourbon casks where they age it. Discovered it on a work trip to Edinburgh and fell in love. It used to be available here for a while as they do export, but haven't seen it for a few years now, sadly.

Craft beers a gimmick?

Do your research and see where and how beers originated.

They're called craft because that's what beer was originally. Different methods and ingredients/ variations used in different localities, before your Moretti/Heineken/Madrid generic piss came around.

Jaysus!
