"I'd say that perhaps you need to change your focus. Look to enrich your life instead - do the things you love; try the things you've always wanted to try. Travel, join a club, take up a sport, go out with your friends. Chances are you'll meet many people along the way who'll make your life less lonely and who'll help fill it with experiences and good memories that'll last a lifetime. Along the way, some of them might even be women 😊 You're young, enjoy and live your life - the rest will fall into place eventually. Use dating apps as a supplement to meeting someone, not as the primary method. All the best" I wanted to write something like this but knew someone would make a far superior job out of it. Fab and dating apps are definitely icing , but there needs to be a solid cake underneath of stuff which makes you feel good . Everyone has their thing , but mine has been reading , courses , exercising and outdoor swimming

Join a walking club, there are even some on fab that will always welcome new members. Or start a group in your own area. Get involved in your local "Park Run" which caters for all fitness levels. Both are a great way to meet new people in a safe, no-pressure social setting. And you get to exercise and improve your fitness and general wellbeing also. It's a win win all round. Attend one of the fab socials which are held in various locations for unverified fabbers. (DV8 in Dublin, on Sunday afternoons, is a good place to start). Recognising your situation and wanting to make a change in your life is more than half the battle. Best of luck OP with your future life and especially the fab part of that journey. Oh and one other bit of advice. Put up a profile pic. (Preferably not a willy waver). Blank profiles don't do very much for people on here. Best of luck. 🦡

"I'm really lonely. I just want a lady I can be with. I just feel so alone. Dating apps don't work, what should I do?" ...this is probably the wrong place to be looking for a long term partner ..im not saying it never happens, but it's rare.

"I'm really lonely. I just want a lady I can be with. I just feel so alone. Dating apps don't work, what should I do?" I feel for you man, it can be tough. You should really heed LK and Kakapo’s advice. If it’s all a bit too overwhelming, start small. You don’t need to run before you can walk. And just to echo the men’s shed sentiment, my inbox is open
