Question for women, do you like it when strangers call you... honey, sweetie, darling, babe, sweetheart, sexy, etc. in their first messages? Maybe I'm not normal, but this really pisses me off.

No. It's overly familiar. At least allow me to accept the advances before using a term of endearment

Ugh. I'd feel like an utter creep if I called anyone here any of those and meant it with any seriousness.

Doesn't really bother me what people call me in a messages from here besides it's probably just easier to use terms as babe, hunny ect... In a first message.

Oh I wouldn’t be doing it in a message if I’ve never met the person. No way. That’s creepy.

If I'm already acquainted with them then I'll use "darling" sparingly, otherwise I tend to address them as "Lådyship", or "Marchioness" if I feel they are worthy of an elevated rank of peerage.

"Babes", "Sweetie", ... are not my cup of tea. 🫖

I don't even like it when people i know use these terms- vomit inducing. But because I try to remember not everyone is a narcissist I swallow the vomit down. It will absolutely stop me from pursuing a sexual relationship with them though.

Hun is the worst of all 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Not Belfast but NI

I just see it as laziness.

My name is on my profile and to use it shows a guy has read my profile to begin with.

A bit like a guys profile name being Joe and I send him a message saying Hi Dave!

Yes 100%

I even had it in my profile for awhile not to use it and people still did. To me it's a boundary - if I have asked you not to call me by a pet nake and you go ahead and do so anyway it's a consent red flag. Very much time that people start realising that boundaries are boundaries.

the right side of the river

I used to work in the north of England and was often addressed as love or duck or something similar, for example if I was paying for something in a shop the woman at the till would say thank you luuuuuve or a similar phrase. I though nothing of it, their way of being friendly and mannerly
