the right side of the river

Hi everyone

I just took inspiration from an earlier post.

If anyone is planning a ferry trip and might like to meet like minded people for a chat / drink or maybe some motion of the ocean (ok well sea then)

Why not put up here when you plan sailing and see if anyone else is on the same ferry.

If the cabin is a rocking, please come a knocking

Arrive in Cherbourg at 1pm

Depart Cherbourg at 7pm

So six hours,

But take away one hour for getting off the ferry and customers etc

Plus allow 2 hours for queuing up and embarking again.

So realistically?

About 3 hours!

The ferry to Cherbourg and back is a great idea for a 'fun' trip.

Cheaper and more fun than booking some Hotels and the wine is great value.

Now ladies, an orderly queue please

That’s not too far from the ferry or McDonald’s if you are not the adventurous food type.

It’s probably worth while to do a foot passenger trip over and back to the uk if you want to make use of the duty free shopping for smokers and spirits.

Is there anything else that is value on the ferry

True. It is handy, but you are limited to the duty free limits.

With a car for instance to France or Spain - you can have a few days holiday and fill the car with wine etc - no limit, if for your own personal use.

As far as I know it was cancelled last year.

There is still a freight ferry but not sure if they take cars.
