Just started The Seven Sisters series - on book one. Starts with the death of an aristocrat and then his adopted daughters have to come to terms with his choices and gain an opportunity for self discovery using what he left them.

So far it's really good - jumps between past and present- mystery, intrigue, some love interest but that isn't at the center of the story. I downloaded it on audible for my commute to work and have the books to read them physically in between- game changer for a very busy person who loves to read but time and excuses get in the way.

Hannah barnes time to think about the gender clinic in the U.K. Irish kids get referred to

Author argues that some children have always been trapped in the wrong body and need suppprt to transition

She argues others have an acute crisis and need assessment and treatment for their symptoms which include feeling they’re in the wrong body , not life altering intervention

There is now a ban on puberty blockers in the U.K. as there was a concern the clinic were moving too fast

Haven't been reading it recently but it's 1492 by Felipe fernandez-arnesto.

It's a very interesting historical insight to lots of regions at the time arguing that 1492 was the start of globalism (I believe). It's well researched and not exactly bad for a history hobbyist

Unreal threesome scenario that got me going many , many years ago.

Fantastic book that deserves to be up there with On the Road, Catcher in the Rye and Catch 22.

Science fiction wise ,the Orson Scott Card, Ender Trilogy- of Enders Game, Speaker for The Dead & Xenocide are absolute gold.

I read that one. It’s a thrilling read . A lot of controversy about it being written for middle class America etc but fun

Yeah I read that and because the author wasn't Mexican also but great read all the same. Educated was also a fantastic read, true story about a Mormon family in America..

I picked up Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert from a free bookshelf recently, expecting a novel but woah was I surprised!

It's a thought provoking personal journey, alongside a well-researched look into the meaning and expectations of marriage across time and cultures.

Thanks 😉 With the Library membership you get access to online books and something like 2 free audio books a month too, it's really good! Been meaning to join for the kids for a long time anyway! Have no excuse now 🙈 I listen to a LOT of podcasts so need to get out of that habit at night now!

Kilkenny, but Dublin is more fun

"Wild Embrace" by Anja Murray from EcoEye is a great read to remind you of the beauty, intricacy and importance of all the life around ya. That was the last proper book I read.

Can't go wrong with Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" series either as a 41 book series that is so full of wit, depth and social commentary never gets old, especially when you're discovering new jokes and puns after your fifth read.
