- reduce/avoid alcohol

- have 5-6 small meals through the day

- avoid fried food, processed food

- have a good balance between carbs, proteins and fruits/vegs

- drink a lot of water but possibly not during meals (one hour before meals, two hours after meals)

- regular sleep, possibly 7/8h night

- try to exercise in the morning before eating breakfast, just water. Body will have to take energy from somewhere and it will use the energy stored in the fat cells

Never heard that before, about not drinking water during meals. Why's that?

I use electrolytes a couple of hours before the gym, they simply dissolve in a bottle of water.

High 5 Zero in multiple flavours.

Also protein drinks 20 mins after a gym session unless you are having your dinner after the gym.

All in all you need to try whats best for your body, best of luck with it.

This is something I read long ago. Gastric acid are responsible for the digestion of proteins. Drinking water diluite the gastric acid, then the whole digestion process take longer time. I always drink plenty of water before the meal, up to half hour before. It works for me.

I think it helps the body to push foods through faster, meaning you don't stay full for longer.

I know. If I feel very thirsty I drink a bit of water, like half glass but the whole point is not to dilute the gastric acid and it’s very good especially if you had a big meal, the whole digestion process is faster.

One more thing you should consider: unfiltered apple cider vinegar. I take it everyday as it help me reducing my cholesterol level but it helps also on reducing fat and body weight.

Are you getting up earlier than normal to go to the gym?

Sleep is more important than exercise, don't skimp it imo

Reduce the booze

Increase the water and the protein. Replace snacks with protein shakes / yoghurts (some tasty protein yoghurts in Tesco)

Start slow in the gym, make sure you enjoy it. Make everything part of your day instead of overthinking.

Get 15000 steps in. Walk at break before lunch.

The 5/6 meals a day is generally a myth unless someone is, say, a professional athlete or a competitive bodybuilder, which none of us are.

Your regular Joe Soap who follows this will just get fat.

Someone recommended this to me once, in a small bit of warm water, but it made me so sick... It's too acidic

It's excellent for rinsing out your hair though

A nice rock

There will be a little bit of trial and error OP.

Try everything suggested above by everyone until you find something that works.

There is no one size fits all fitness routine or regime.

I would advise starting a little training diary with food and sleep included it might help you spot trends when your energy levels are high and when they are low

I used to do that when I was going to the gym 6/week. It also depends on the meal, I consider on that number also some snacks like fruits or yogurt that I have mid morning or afternoon.

breakfast, lunch, dinner and one/two snacks is what I’m doing now

Try mixing with honey, it will taste better. Then with time reduce the quantity of honey. Also drink a glass of water immediately after the mix of water/acv/honey.

I know some people that mix it with a but of salt, but I never tried

A handy way is the plate to be divided in half. This will be your protein sorce. Then the other half put into quarters. Veg and carbs with out getting to complicated to get started. Whole foods. Eg real foods not out of a packet. Small meals but eat often. Ballance is key. Calories in and energy out with exercise is the next stage.

Energy out with exercise? How does that work?
