What do people think of them? There looks to be a rise of people getting into them or at least trying them

Personally ive always felt the next relationship i get into would be an open one. Ive never cheated in my life but i get bored easy and i know myself if i have a partner i would need just that bit extra aswell and it be even more fun if we are doing that together

I also love the idea of them having their little playdates on the side to!

Maybe thats just me ...

A nice rock

I don't think I'd be well suited to an open relationship.

I dint know if I have a jealous streak or if its just years of social conditioning but to me the idea if my SO dating or sleeping with other people doesn't sit right

I'm sure they work fine for some people but they wouldn't really be my choice. When I'm in a relationship I like it to be about eachother and no one extra. Perhaps I'm on the wrong website

Wouldn't be for me. Swinging is about us and for us as a couple, it has brought us closer together.

somewhere

Just wondering as every day is a school day for me

Couples that only play as a couple are not in an open relationship

What about couples that play in separate rooms but arrive and leave together

Is that an open relationship

You have to be healed and self aware to start open relationship. There are so many varieties like swinging together, swinging separately, polyamory etc. It’s all about what you and your partner want, how you manage the rules and how you care about each other.

There are no truly easy relationships. Open closed or otherwise.

This

It’s all about what works for both people, open clear communication are the essential foundations

Sounds like hard work, think I ld prefer to stay single with maybe a regular FWB or FB.

Too much organisation in the open relationship.

We started by just being a vanilla couple, then a swinging couple, then playing as singles at parties and we now have an open relationship but we are still the core of it all. It’s about us first as a married couple. We only have one rule… we have to like the person the other is with… if we don’t get on then that’s a NO. Our relationship is the most important. It requires a lot of communication, some compromises, trial and errors. But we are stronger and closer than ever. It suits us for now. We are still mad about each other and that’s only getting stronger as the time passes

Communication would be key! There would definitely need to be a very strong relationship between you and your partner in terms of trust and I like what someone else said about both having to like any extras.

It would definitely depend on my partner and how a relationship develops, an open relationship for me would have to develop out of an already strong relationship...entering straight into an open relationship I think would almost certainly end in messy outcomes (not the warm salty kind)

I would say out of all my relationships (vanilla) there would of been one were an open policy would have worked

Also I'd say being in a open relationship and including a neighbour is possibly a recipe for disaster too lol
