The races are not my idea of fun.

I can't stand crowds.

Pissed crowds would be even more delightful I imagine.

I usually try to leave town when the races are on. D*unken louts everywhere.

I've worked at the races too and I wouldn't dream of paying money to go.

That said I have no interest in horses so I can imagine some people have a great time and there's also the silly hats

Personally I'd rather be in Gaza than Galway the week of the races.

Absolute carnage.

Try not to be like guy. Comparing Galway city to Gaza…I can only imagine you thought that it would be funny when actually it’s a disgraceful comment!

Will attend the races but avoid the city. Way too much hassle to find a hotel.

Pure rip off race week in Galway. Hotel prices are nuts food and drink same. Traffic at a standstill and crowded everywhere. Then again that describes every week in Galway.

A group of my friends come home every year for the races, great excuse to meet and have a laugh. The crowds aren’t that bad.

I'm going with two good friends for ladies day. We've never been before and we're so looking forward to it. We'll be found in the champagne tent mostly!

Cant really go too wrong in Galway, especially with the night your staying it will be busy pretty much most places with the races evening meet. Try a few of the smaller pubs around cross street. Friday the 2nd?

Shop street is cordoned off in the evenings during the races and turned into one giant outdoor bar. It'll be mobbed.

The Latin quarter is a short walk and there's plenty of nice pub's d down there too
