Beware, most of mine is rock/metal based. But I'm a rhythm junkie. Friends invited me to a rock festival two years ago, knew no bands except Lordi(awesome and fun btw).

I'll make a play list, take ten songs from each band and see how I like them before going. And i always checkout band names/badges on the back of vests/t-shirts too.

Then there's the spotify random option or YouTube suggestions.

What new music have you discovered and gotten to like? Mine in no order of preference:

Voice of Baceprot

Crypta

Null Positiv

Seelensturm

Lacrimas Profundere

Böse Fuchs

Ordan Ogan

Double Crush Syndrome

Unzucht

Nachtblut

End of Green

Krankheit

Crematory

Averium

Windrose

(Yup, many non-english singjng bands here)

Check out The Hu. They are a Mongolian throat singing folk metal band. A genre of music you didn't know you needed in your life!

Must try out the Hu.

I would recommend Ali Farka Toure, Ry Cooder collaborated with him on a album Talking Timbuktu in 1994. But my favourite of his is In the Heart of the Moon released 2006. Sadly it was one of his last. He was from Mali.
