Lucan

I gone up to Tara hill a couple of times for it. There's always lots of "earthy" types up there on the night.

It's a full moon as well so I might have to shackle myself.

I used to go up camping up at Tara every year with my partner at the time. It's been a long time (20yrs) but there was always an eclectic mix of hippies, witches, druid's and just regular folk who liked the atmosphere.

The cafe there still does a really good scone with jam and clotted cream.

No it's because the 20th is the actual longest day this year it varies a bit each year around the 21st the earth doesn't abide by our calender x

Yeah, pretty much that. People in touch with mother earth. It's a great, chilled vibe up there on that night with bongoes beating away, often a few snail bonfires with the opw tearing around trying to get them put out, and fire-eaters and the like.

City Centre, Dublin

I’ll probably mutter to myself something about “a quare stretch in the evening” and then go in with my day

Alicante Spain, and Cork City Ireland

Las Hogueras de San Juan son las Fiestas mayores de la ciudad de Alicante.

It's a wild night here in Alicante on the 20th too...in fact there's gonna be 5 nights of it.

Hereabouts

Fun fact: Summer solstice as gaeilge is Grianstad an tSamhraidh

Grianstad means sun-stop in Irish because the sun appears to stand still in the sky for three days!! Not that we can tell nowadays, we aren't as tuned in to the cycles.

I've no plans for any of the Grianstad days
