It's not going to sway the decision of any of his fan base, probably only make them more eager to vote for him.

Unlikely he will get jail time, but I'd love to see it happen.

The US is so fucked, he will probably get a well of support for being "set up". Sad thing is, everything that happens there eventually arrives here too, it's already started when you look at the bunch of loons emerging as candidates for June.

Agreed. It kinda reminds me of The Emperor's New Clothes in the way his supporters behave.

I wish I could believe this verdict actually meant something

Will probably mobilize his base all the more. Sometimes I genuinely wish I could be proud to be American

Personally, I don't get this "proud to be" whatever nationality. It's literally an accident of birth and none of us (thankfully) are responsible for the behaviour of our compatriots!

To be fair, Trump is definitely responsible for the behaviour of quite a few of his compatriots.

Is like to think this will cause the tiny proportion of non-polorised voters to move towards the Dems, or even better cause a candidate swap out, but I suspect people are so entrenched that there will be little change. Thankfully a little change can make a big difference as the margins are so thin between parties.

Hunter Biden has been very quiet about his laptop since he found out Trump got convicted.

Very suspicious

Tbf it’s his 3rd or 4th court case in the last 8 years, they were bound to have got him at some stage

Can’t help but think it’ll play into his hands, democrats were so desperate to get him they fluffed 3 trials instead of keeping their powder dry and absolutely nailing him when they were certain they’d get him

It's the State of New York, not the Democratic Party

Did you see he actually turned up to testify in public, but the republicans chickened out

If they look at hunter, they will have to look at ivanka and all her trade marks, deals with Saudi etc

The MAGA are like thec walking dead

Oh no I understand that, if you watch Jon Stewart on the CNN coverage, the phrase “the walls are closing in” was used a hundred times each case and it never came to anything

What a news channel says matters little, especially in the US, what the courts say is an entirely different thing. He's been found guilty so I'd say the walls have very much closed in for as much as that means. There are still a number of other cases pending.

Fox News holds more sway in the US than any legislator, they’ve been getting the goons lining up for trump for years

I honestly think the whole thing is grist to his mill

He’ll play the victim

Mention the numerous failed indictments

Likely won’t do any jail time

Use it as part of his deep state conspiracy

They stole the election and when I spoke out they tried to jail me narrative

His supporters will lap it up

However I don’t think swing voters and moderates will vote for trump this time round so Biden will likely (and hopefully) win

How so? Didn't trump select the jury himself?
